Try clearing your catch and cookies than try accessing the forum again.

Visit your forum again. Look in top left. And ASK yourself why your forum isnt popular... At the moment my forum isnt popular too ( i am not worried, i have plenty of tricks to fix that ), but before i even officially opened it i created 300 topics. So any potential members can contribute in. Perhaps you shall do the same.

I spread the word on some forums (that allow you to) and in 4 weeks I only got 14 members so I changed it to something I'm pretty sure more "grown up" people would like.

I only have around 250+ members or so, but that's not enough for me

Use some of these options to gain members

• Advertise on other forums/sites
• Add your forum's url link in your signature on every forum/site you are joined/registered on
• Get members/users on the internet to sponsor your forum on their forum. You use the Affiliates widget in your forum to display your sponsors.


You can also wait several days (about 50 hours) for your forum to appear on search engines such as Google, Yahoo!, etc.

Also, take the previous posts into recommendation as well.

Some people aren't into some stuff. Try making something that people want.

I visited your forum. Right off I can answer your question. It is sad for me to have to tell you but.........(knowing from experience) people are not in to Bible type forums. I tried it several times. So I made a general and wholesome forum with a Biblical section inside the forum.

I know how you feel. I am at 52 members and only about a third or less will post. I have threatened to delete those members that do not post but then I would have a low membership. I am happy to say the members that do post are very active keeping my forum alive.

Also, you can just make a forum based on something popular such as 'General Chat', 'Video Games', etc, then just make a General section in the forum about anything dealing with outside the forum (you can discuss biblical meanings in there).


I also found a very great and effective way to gain members. When you create keywords for your forum, add a lot of random words. If your forum is displayed on Google, people are able to find your forum by that keyword they entered into the address search engine .

Yes that is smart but..........I have not depended on search engines. Maybe I have the wrong words. I do know that msn, google, yahoo bots come to visit a lot. I think this is because of words found in forum posts but I am not sure. Anyone know the reason?

Actually, when people specifically google something to try to find my forum (like "Free Rider 2 Forums", my forum shows up as the second optional site listed. I get over 3 new members a day thanks to that, and probally most of it is from the random keywords I have set up.

Maybe your outcomes will get lucky like that

Could it be words from the forum name itself? Is that what you mean?

Wow I just checked the section for key words. That list was not made by me so how did they get there. Also tell me how to put my own words there. Please.

Administration Control Panel >

Display tab >

Homepage -- Generalities >

Scroll down to the Referencing : metatags section, and add some keywords based on your forum (or anythng random, which is how I got my forum so many members), and then Save your new settings

Ok I did that but the new words DO NOT Show up on the index page under

That is the widget. I'm talking about the keywords that show up on Google when you look up something. For ex, if you google up "Uk Yuk Bla" and that specific term is in your customed keywords, then it will appear on the search engine. I would just post random important, popular things as your keywords, like "Ipod", "Rhianna", "Latest News", and stuff like that since it will appear on Google, and since those things are popular, a lot of people will be searching for them on Google and they would nonchalantly be accessed to your forum. This is quite a sneaky, good trick

If your forum is a biblical one (I haven't looked myself), perhaps going to your church and asking to put up a poster, or include the URL in the church newsletters.

It's all about advertising.

That's a very good idea. You could also make your forum a communitical site (forum) based on your church or related, local churches in your district.

Also, make small flyers and leave them inside your church, on a desk or something.

If your church isn't really big, then I wouldn't count on many people to join, let alone how many people would even be interested in the forum.
