Creating Forums

Can members create forums within the categories?

Or is it only the admin who creates the forums and members just add new topics as needed?

Only administrators can create forums in Administration Panel → General tab → Categories and forums

Members only have the ability to reply and create topics, but you can also modify their rights. So they are able only to reply and not to create topics for example.

To confirm- if I, as the owner of the forum, give certain members the rank of 'administrator', they will be able to create forums as well as myself?

Will I still be the overall owner of the forum?

You will still be overall owner of the forum, whoever you pick to be administrators with you will just be co-admins, but I'm pretty sure co-admins can create categories too, as they can access near enough everything in the admin panel except the ability to delete the forum.

Well you wouldn't be the "owner". Technically Forumotion own your forum. All you do is manage it. But yes, giving someone admin access will not stop you from being in complete control of the forum.
