Why did you choose forumotion?

Post by Darren1 on Sat Feb 07 2009, 04:13

First topic message reminder :

Why did YOU Guest chose forumotion, over some other companies?

I myself, chose forumotion over other companies because of:
The simplicity of their admin panel,
Many friends recommendation (and I recommend forumotion now myself)
The amount of support offered here on the support forum, coinciding with the time it takes to receive support.

I helped a friend create his poker forum as he didn't know how to do it. This was from forumotion so I was quite aware of what was on offer. When I decided I wanted to give a go at having my own rather than Moderate for others'...I knew this was the place for me.

Lots of things I love, the features and how crisp the Admin panel is, very straight forward and no nit pickety options. The vast amount of templates is definitely a plus, (do other free forum providers have this amount available? If so, I haven't noticed).

The support here is second to none. I've spent the majority of an afternoon and evening reading over the board. Everything is explained with such simplicity that in itself must attract lots of interest. Even someone with no knowledge of forums could dive right in and come out the other end with a good grasp on running a forum, just from the support provided here.

Thank you Forumotion. I may be relatively new. But I doubt my opinions will change. Please...if someone could enlighten me, in a few weeks time when im further on with the forum im creating...I would like to donate to FM. If anyone has any insight on how to do so I would appreciate a PM. I have searched, but on a brief look I can't see any info.

Why did YOU lustromlingmech chose forumotion, over some other companies?
Ok, that startled me a bit web I saw that the question was addressed directly to me. But then I guessed it was some automatic coding

So, I decided to use forumotion because it was the first result on google when I searched for "Make A free Forum." I also wanted some features. I mainly wanted to be in control of who activates their account before they start posting, and I wanted HTML coding available in posts.

I chose forumotion as It was recommended to a friend and he recommended it to me. I also chose it because -

It is free and easy to use
I wanted something to do in my spare time
I liked how I could choose from a wide range of skins.

And.... it looked professional, and still does.

Forumotion was suggested to me by a mate who is into the IT profession. I had never started a forum before but I have to say the process was easy and pleasant the way it has been set up by forumotion.

So cheers lads (those who designed it)!

Im sorry Darren1 but you seemed to have made this question directly for me and I havent replied.........

Why did YOU Daryn chose forumotion, over some other companies?

TBH I cant remember chatting to you before lol............

Anyway to answer your question for me it was the back, the professionalism and the security, my members have put alot of work into reviews etc and it would be terrible if it all went to waste and was lost, but the back forumotion have on here is amazing.

Again sorry for not replying all that time ago lol, something is up here as I was not even a member in 2009, think lol

Re: Why did you choose forumotion?

Post by MetalKirby on Sun Nov 04 2012, 23:59

I must say, I liked the first post of this thread because of how it was possible to directly mention the username of the user viewing this thread.

Anyway, one person recommended this forum host when I asked my viewers on Youtube if I should try doing a website and forum again. So here I am, and I must say I like how the forum is managed, though I have had issues trying to get around security on the forum, from security prohibiting a friend of mine from joining the forum due to the name apparently being popular enough to be used by a spam-bot, and now my issue being unable to get a new password since I could not remember the password exactly. Ah well, I guess it was better to deal with these issues now than later, right?

I was an admin in a friend's forum from forumotion. Now i made one myself. The best way was the one I already knew. FORUMOTION!!!
I have some difficulties, but, i suppose that there are solutions.
In addition, it's easy and free.

i chose forum motion because it allows for use of personal banners and other features. there are other websites that do not have as much variety to choose from skin designs.

Easy to use, actually helpful, by that I mean you learn how to code and mess around with you forum and templates. It's fun. Also, because of the Forumotion Support Forum, it's fun. I love it here.

Re: Why did you choose forumotion?

Post by Kaizer Lee on Wed Nov 28 2012, 12:37

I don't mean to hate for other forums, but yeah, as a start, here are the following reasons:

1. Free
2. The designs are cool as hell and easy to manipulate with images
3. I accidentally clicked on phpBB once where it all started, literally
4. I thought the icon for the forumotion symbol was too cute to pass up :3
5. All other forum types are a rip off e.e

Reason 5 is not meant to hate if ever offended, but it's true >.>, only forum I can actually depend on with maximizing stuff is FM e.e
