Forgotten Login Name
A member has forgotten her login name.. she PM'd saying what her email address was so i was able to check for her and email her back but is there any way that this can be done automatically?
There is an option for "forgotten password" but you have to enter your login name and email address for this, which she obviously didn't have.. just for future reference??
Thanks.

Re: Forgotten Login Name
No she knew her password.. in future.. if anyone forgets their LOGIN name.. do they have to get hold of Admin and PM them asking for it to be sorted or is there some sort of automated thing?
Re: Forgotten Login Name
You, the administration of your forum, have full power to change/locate that user's username and change their password to something else. Give them your email address so if they forget their account information, they can contact you stating that they need to know their account information (since you have it in the administration panel) to login or so. If a user forget's their password, they can click the 'Forgot Password' selection when they are logging in; or, you could just make them a new password via administration panel.

Re: Forgotten Login Name
What Rok said should work for you, but it is very pathetic when you lose your Login Name. Next time, if this problem is solved, tell her to write here Account ID down.
Also, I keep all my Account Information in my mails, when I get them, and put the in a special custom folder in MSN, calling it "Usernames & Passwords" and this way, if I am to get back to playing an online game which I stopped 2 years ago, I can easily track down my information.
Just for future reference.

Re: Forgotten Login Name
Thanks for the replies. I have a folder of emails like that as well.
Well I agree, it's a bit daft if you can't remember your login name anywhere so probably unlikely to happen again. Passwords are fine, they can just go through the FORGOTTEN PASSWORD process to sort that.
Maybe I'll do a sticky with my email address in, in a section that guests can view, saying in case of forgotten usernames, to email me? ALthough I think she was one of a kind lol!
Thanks again guys.
