I set the width to 98% and still have two columns on each side. I don't want any widgets and want to remove or shrink those columns to almost nothing. Is there another way or am I doing something wrong?

To remove your widget, simply do this

I did that, over and over again. I set the numbers to 0. I've set the numbers to 180. None of the suggested solutions in this help forum work. I still have a column on each side of the forum content.

It's the big giant spaces on the side I want to get rid of. I guess I just assumed that those were the "columns" everyone is talking about. I want the content of the forum to take up the browser window. I'm not sure how else to explain that or how to adjust that width.

Does that make more sense?

Display>Colors
css stylesheet
Find this bit of code
Code:
#wrap {
width:83%;
margin: 0px auto;
background-color: #2a2a2a;
background-image: ;
background-repeat: repeat;
background-attachment: fixed;
border-color: #46494b;
   border-width: 0px 0px 0px 0px;
   border-style: solid;

Change the width there.
