Group Permissions
I did a search and it brought up quite a number of responses but none that I saw with what I need.
I have 4 groups for my site: Guest, Member, Ambassador, and Administrator
Now, I want each group to have specific forums they can view and/or post in.
I have looked in the Forums Permission control panel, and, for example, the Guest group, and see that they can View and Read the In Character forum. But I don't want them to.
Here is my confusion.
In the forum permissions control for the In Character forum, at the top of the table there none of the boxes are checked for Guests. BUT lower down under the GROUP of Guests view and read/reply are checked by the boxes are greyed out, hence I cannot change it.
I did a test name and sure enough, when I set as a Guest they can see that forum.
How do I completely remove that setting for that GROUP? Thanks

Re: Group Permissions
ACP=>General Tab=>Forum=>Categories and forums=>Choose forum=>Permissions=>Tick off who you don't want to view the forum, and tick the groups you want to view the forum=>Save

Re: Group Permissions
Thanks for the quick reply, but as I stated above it isn't helping.
Hm ... let me see if a picture can help

Okay, see at the top that the boxes next to Guests are unchecked? That's all fine, but see below that in the Group section the boxes for Gueses are checked but greyed out? That's my problem.
Even if I uncheck the boxes above and save, Guests can still go into the forums I don't want them too.

ACP=>General Tab=>Forum=>Categories and forums
Click on a forum name then.
Then the permissions tab & then give them the permissions as you want.
Repeat this for all the forums.

Re: Group Permissions
Okay ... I am in Forum permission Controls and at the top I have it set that Members can view and write int he topic ...
But Guests can still. I don't get it.
Are Guests considered Members?
Meaning Members (already a default for the boards and not the Members group I personally created) is over writing my Guests (which is the group I personally created)?
If so then it's a problem for what I want to do.

Re: Group Permissions
Guests, are a totally different thing. YOu can give or remove all their permissions without any hassles.
Are you doing it for a single forum?
