Temporarily lock forum

Any chance someone can tell me how to lock the forum ?

You can put it on Construction or Holiday.

Gneral tab>forum>configuration>pick either of the above>save

Damn and blast, it wont have none of it!

The icon at the bottom shows Forum is locked, but posters are still logging in. Any more suggestions ?

The icon at the bottom is a "key" for the forums...it has nothing to do for the whole forum to be locked...

We have tried putting the forum under construction and holiday but it just wont lock. Is there something basic we are missing ?

Do you have a problem with locking your forum? or are you just here to spam with random crap?

If you want to lock your forum,then I suggest you disallow new members as well...

ACP=>Users & Groups Tab=>Users=>User options=>Allow new members=>No=>Save

So,your forum is under construction and people can't create new accounts.
