Spell check & word count when posting Empty Spell check & word count when posting

I would love to see a spell check feature, either as you're typing, or in the form of a button you could press.

I also think it'd be really handy (especially for role-playing type boards) to have a word count, again, either as you are typing or in the form of a button.

What do you think?

I agree with the spell check.

But personally i think the word count would be useless... unless you needed a certian amount of words in like a Mod application

I hold writing contests at my board that require at least a certain amount of words. That's mainly why I'd like to be able to have the word count.

The word count would be the best for my forum because it will help avoid one word post.

Excellent idea. Fully supported by me. I have a forum for creative writers, and also will be holding writing comps soon, so word count would be useful! Also the spellcheck is neccessary for writers, as we tend to obssess over every word.

i like the idea with the word count... though... shouldnt it be better to be symbol count??
so you know how much space is left for you??

about spell checker
i dont think they will ever approve this...
cause you could just install a spell checker onto your browser and thats it

Very Happy Of course, both would be great because some peoples' browsers don't have spell checker.

spell check would be awesome but if you have google chrome it has a spell check already built into it.. but having it as you post would be really useful or a dictonary button!

I don't think having a word count would stop one word posts. It's not like they don't realize their post is only one word.
