First topic message reminder :

Well I just spend 2 hours on probably the best tutorial for colors and fonts, but because of the lame ass characters limit I couldn't post it in one post.

And it would be confusing for the new member to coherately flow through the tutorial if it was broken up.

How To Add Ranks

After you achieve your selected rank images from requesting them or searching them on the forum.. :

• Administration Panel >
• Users & Groups tab >
• Ranks -- Ranks Administration >
Split: Member written tutorials - Page 2 AddNewRank >
• On this page, you have to fill out the following selected tables (I'm going to use Administrator as an example) :
Rank Title : Administrator

Set as Special Rank : No
If you are wanting someone to achieve a selected amout of posts in order to achieve the rank, then Set as Special Rank : Yes.

Minimum Posts : (Amount of posts you want a user to achieve in order to achieve the rank; you can't answer this choice if you selected Yes in Set as Special Rank :)
Rank Image URL (http://URL_RANK_IMAGE.gif) : (Enter the rank image's image code from requesting them or searching them on this forum)
• Finally, Save the settings afterwards.

You can manage what users have the rank by managing it in their profile via the Administration Panel.

Adsence in Forum/Portal Widgets

I have found a way to get Google Adsence Ads in the widgets of your forums and the portal. You just need to think like a programmer Razz
Step by step

1. Create a new HTML page, and paste the Google Adsence code there.
2. In your wigdets area, create a new widget.
3. In it, paste the following code:

Code:
    <iframe src="http://LINK_TO_THE_NEW_HTML_PAGE" width="140" height="650" scrolling="no" FRAMEBORDER="0"></iframe>
4. Place the link to your new HTML page in the marked area, and edit width & height to match the ad's width & height.
5. Save and enjoy! salut

Drop-Down List code

Drop-down lists are used for users to pick a few optional selections of where to navigate to a site. They can be used for purchasing payments, forum redirections, different sites, etc.

The code for a drop-down list is :
Code:
<div id="EchoTopic">
<form name="jump2">
<select name="menu" onchange="location=document.jump2.menu.options[document.jump2.menu.selectedIndex].value;" value="GO">
<option value="">TITLE OF DROP-DOWN LIST HERE</option>
<option value="LINK HERE">SELECTION TITLE HERE</option>
<option value="LINK HERE">SELECTION TITLE HERE</option>

</select>
</form>
</div>

How to create redirect buttons

Making the Button
Have you ever wanted to put a button on your navbar that links to another webpage? Well here's how:

1. First, you need a webpage for the button to direct you to. For this tutorial, I'll use google, www.google.com

2. Ok, now you need to make a button for it. You can do this yourself or request it in the graphics forum. Anyway, here's mine:
Split: Member written tutorials - Page 2 Google

3. Next, go the admin panel and go to Display>Headers and Navigation. Scroll down and click "Add a customized menu".
Menu - Enter the name of the button.
Picture - Enter the name of the picture.
Text - Enter the text that will show when a user scrolls their cursor over the button.
Redirection URL - This is the URL that the user will go to once they click this button.
Rights - Choose who can see this.
Display - Choose wether it will open in a new window or take them away from the current webpage.

Now that we're done, this is what mine looks like:
Split: Member written tutorials - Page 2 Navbarchange

4. Okay you're done! Now time to see how it came out. Here's what my NavBar looks like:

Good Luck

Thanks Caihlem, but are thumbnails actually accepted?

HOW TO MAKE A TEXT STAFF SIGNATURE

What is a staff signature?
A staff signature is a signature made especially for staff members of your forum which gives members quick links to certain topics or forums.

Here are the steps to make one :

Step 1. Go to the Administration Panel of your forum and click on "Search Users, and type in a staff member's username.

Split: Member written tutorials - Page 2 Imagetut1

Step 2. Then go to the signature section under the first few options.

Split: Member written tutorials - Page 2 Imagetut2

Step 3. From that, find one link you would like to put in that signature by opening a new window on your computer.

Step 4. Then just repeat Step 3 until you have a number of you links you would like. In the signature, you may also do something that the rank has to do with. For example, if the member you are choosing is in the graphics groups, make a link that goes to the Graphics Rules.

Final Step. Finally, follow this code to make sure you have your signature right:

Code:
[url=A LINK HERE[/url]TEXT HERE[/url]

If you have more urls and text in the signature, repeat the code. The links and text can be seperated by 5 spaces or the ~ icon if you wish, like this:

Code:
[url=A LINK HERE]TEXT HERE[/url] ~ [url=A LINK HERE]TEXT HERE[/url]

Do not forget to save afterwards, and remember, the save button is below the signature space; kind of far below but you'll manage to find it.

Bypassing the menu name fault

Hello all! In this tutorial, I will be showing you how to bypass the menu name fault when changing your PM navigation bar buttons. This problem can be very annoying, but I have a solution. Please note! During this tutorial I will ask you to download two things, if you do not wish to download them, you cannot fix the problem.

The problem

When trying to change the PM navigation bar buttons, you may encounter the menu name fault which looks like this:
Spoiler:

The fix

Getting Mozilla Firefox

Right, in order for this trick to work, you will need to download the Mozilla Firefox internet browser from the Mozilla Firefox website which can be found by clicking here. Members who already use this browser may skip this step if they wish.

Getting Firebug

Now we need to download and install an Add-On called "Firebug". You can find it by clicking here. Warning! Do not click on the link unless you have Mozilla Firefox! Members who already have this Add-On may skip this step if they wish.

Bypassing the fault

Now, follow these steps:

1) Administration Panel (advanced mode)
2) Display Tab
3) Headers & Navigation (on the left, under Homepage)
4) Click the modify button (Split: Member written tutorials - Page 2 Editer) next to the "You have no new messages"
5) Now, insert your image URLs into the fields as necessary but don't hit save!
6) After that, right-click on the word "Menu" and click "Inspect Element" like so:
Spoiler:
7) A little window should now appear on-screen in your browser. Don't worry, this is normal
Cool Click the plus icon like this:
Spoiler:
9) You should now see this:
Spoiler:
10) Next, modify the "You have no new messages" by clicking on the red words accordingly like this, DO NOT MODIFY ANYTHING ELSE:
Spoiler:
11) Then you should see this:
Spoiler:

This is normally not editable without the Firebug. Now you can hit the save button and you should not encounter any problems and the images should be changed. Thanks for reading!
