Accessing GoDaddy account
I have started to get messages from GoDaddy to edit my account details, if I follow the link it asks me to login, my problem is no matter what username & password I try it will not let me in. I assumed because Forumotion have set up the account with GoDaddy on 4th Sept 09 (I have had the domain for over a year) that the details I have with Forumontion are the login details, but they are not !!
If I ask for the password or username to be reset, it sends a mail to an account I've never heard of, I've spoken to GoDaddy and they say I need to login to change the contact email address Grrrrr !!!

Re: Accessing GoDaddy account
The messages are coming to another email address which I used for registration along with my home address etc.
I've never heard of the '****@exotikweb.com' email address and have never had a customer number
Yes the domain was bought through Forumotion
Registration Date:09/16/2008
Expiration Date:09/16/2010
Nameservers

Re: Accessing GoDaddy account
Sorry Sanket as far as I can see this is not related at all.
The 'Whois' record for my domain state that it is registered with GoDaddy, seeing as I bought it from Forumotion then my assumption is that Forumotion have registered it with GoDaddy. I have spoken to GoDaddy and they don't deny it's registered with them and sent me the following.........
Dear Ian,
Unfortunately, if you are unsure of this information, and another party is managing your domain with us, you will need to contact the person who originally setup the account for you. I apologize for the confusion.
Please let us know if we can assist you in any other way.
Sincerely,

Re: Accessing GoDaddy account
I doubt if emails are directly sent to users from go daddy. I have not encountered a single such issue before.
Anyways, is there a problem? Has something stopped working?

Re: Accessing GoDaddy account
I doubt that anyone 'Phishing' for information would refuse to assist and tell me to "contact the person who originally setup the account for you"
I've checked the headers of the mails and there doesn't seem to be anything sinister in them.
No, there is nothing wrong all appears to be working O.K. The domain is registered to me so I can only hope that I never have to update any information (i.e. address) as I am not able to log in and nobody seems to have that information.

Re: Accessing GoDaddy account
Same thing has happened to me, I have contacted typlo with no response. The email I got sent said my domain will be locked if I don't edit it. I also can not access it as it is set up under another email and username, they told me that maybe you guys registered my forum through them. I am worried about it being locked myself. Infact I got alomst the exact email with the same @ email address.

Re: Accessing GoDaddy account
Hello,
We made a modification on our Godaddy account, so they sent you a notification.
As its our Godaddy account, it's normal you can't access it.
The changes were minor and won't affect your domain name.

That's fair enough, I wouldn't expect to be able to access it if it was your account.
Thank you for addressing this.

Re: Accessing GoDaddy account
As long as my domain and site is not affected I am fine with that. I feel reassured now that I know no one s trying to spam my domain name, thanks for the input!
