How do I link a post?

Sometimes I want to refer to something I posted in another thread. I then make a link to that thread but what I really wanted was a link to a specific post in that thread. As it stands now when I link the thread one has to scroll down to find the specific post that I am referring to. I have seen other forums where they link to another thread and it goes directly to the post located farther down in the thread.

Is there a way I can make a link to post in another thread?

Well, you need to right click on that post's title then you will get a link in a format where there is an extension to it.

Thank you for replying. I went to a post and right clicked on the "subject" and a window opened up that said:

Search in Spotlight
Search with Google
Look up in Dictionary
Copy
Speech > Start Speaking

I didn't see any link to a format to get the extension. Did I click the wrong place?

Which browser are you using? In firefox it asks to COPY LINK LOCATION

I opened firefox and got a window and clicked "view page info"

Exactly what am I looking for? The address? The Referring URL? Encoding?

I don't see anything that says "copy link location" on this new window.

Did you right click on the subject after hovering over it?

Never mind, hit that subject.
It will change the url in the address bar. Copy it from there.

I have clicked on the subject and checked the address bar at the top of the page for any changes and there are none. If I am not doing this correct then let me know. I appreciate your help greatly.

I check my website under firefox and there is no change in the address and it ends with the letters .htm There is no # sign with other numbers.

In safari I can see the #3300 at the end of the address but it doesn't change when I click on the subject of the various posts.

What am I to do?

It will only be on replies. Not on the starting post of a thread.

I clicked the subject on the replies in both Firefox and Safari and did not get it.

Both Firefox and Safari are showing t932.htm no matter what post subject I hit.

They don't show the #402856 at the end of the address like I see at the top of this page.

Do you want a snap of my address bar or of where my cursor is when I click on the subject of a post? I do not know how to send a snap except to post it on photobucket and then post a link. Let me see if I can figure out how to send a snap to this thread.

Now that I am looking at it when I move my cursor to the subject on this thread in this website the subject becomes highlighted and the cursor becomes a hand that you can point and click. Hense when I click it the address bar changes.

When I move the cursor over the subject line of the posts in the threads of my website the arrow disappears and a line appears. There is no pointing hand and the subject line does not highlight. That is probably the reason my address bar doesn't change?

Do you still need a snap with this new information?
