[Only-Topic] Refused e-mail addresses
Hello.
Lately, it seems that many people are having invalid address problem when they try to submit their registration.
When they submit, they get the message telling their e-mail address is invalid and then, the registration is cancelled.
So, I create this only-topic, so people will post about this problem.
Here are the indications you must follow.
- If the address is an AOL address, read this : https://help.forumotion.com/viewtopic.forum?t=399
- Otherwise, follow this : [/quote]Ask your member to do a mail test at this address : http://www.dnsreport.com/
If he/she doesn't understand the results, just give the link of the results. I will then leave a message on the French side.

- To help our technicians, we ask you to tell the domain names of the refused addresses ( ex : hotmail.co.uk ).
Thankis for your help
Editboard Staff.

Re: [Only-Topic] Refused e-mail addresses
Hi, I have the same problem. Funny thing is that the person trying to register with my forum returns exactly the same result as my email address (which i guess isnt surprising as we both are with hotmail.co.uk). He cant register tho while i used my email address to setup the forum.
heres his mail test :
http://www.dnsreport.com/tools/mail.ch?domain=dirtydave81@hotmail.com
Also what i found really strange is that the email address i used to create my forum couldnt be used to register with this techie forum. Can anyone explain that?!

Re: [Only-Topic] Refused e-mail addresses
HI every one
i did the test for email 115-@-mrda.ca ( remove the dashes)and the test passed.
http://www.dnsreport.com/tools/mail.ch?domain=115@mrda.ca
but when i try to register to this forum i have invalid email.
Why .CA is not accepted my business and private email are from canadian servers.
Can these .CA can be unlocked on the forum.
is it locked by forumactif or zikforum ?
I am already member of another french forum on forumactif and my email end my xxx@mrda.ca
and it work...
so can some Tech at forumactif or zikforum can repair this.
thanks
Daniel

Re: [Only-Topic] Refused e-mail addresses
Strangely, I never had registration problem with my @yahoo.ca address on editboards...
forumactif and zikforum (as well as editboard, easyforum, etc.) are the same host which owns about 60 domain names.
Our technicians are still trying to figure out what's wrong with email verification script. They didn't have much time to look at this problem because of the updates which have been set up yesterday.

Re: [Only-Topic] Refused e-mail addresses
Just to let you know that I was testing my forum signing in with several of my email addresses and those ending in:
@yahoo.co.uk
@yahoo.com
@blueyonder.co.uk
They all don't work. This will surely affect new members joining my site - I hope the problem is resolved soon...and I tried not only on my site but others I know of.
Any news?

Re: [Only-Topic] Refused e-mail addresses
I tried to register at my forum for a test account, and it wouldn't accept my other e-mail from my internet company
Re: [Only-Topic] Refused e-mail addresses
ok i did create a forum at http://test.lolforum.net/
when i did create this forum i gave an adress of 115@mrda.ca that is for the admin.
THen i try to get a new user daudet with test@mrda.ca or any other *@mrda.ca and it does not work. i try my business email xxx@cygnal.ca and it did work.
so the forum is rejecting MRDA and not the CA
on aco.forumactif.com i have an mrda.ca email and it work. so wonder what is the problem.
i have the same problem on 3 other forum with mrda.ca
thanks

Re: [Only-Topic] Refused e-mail addresses
This problem has been going on for ages. Is there any news of when it will be resolved? I could be losing potential members!
I don't want to sound like I'm nagging, but surely we can expect some sort of response and resolution?

Re: [Only-Topic] Refused e-mail addresses
I really need to sign some people up for my forum using their work email address to access their activation link. All the emails in:
@moray-edunet.gov.uk
It keeps telling me that the email address is invalid when I try to get them signed up. We can't access web-based email accounts at work due to restrictions on our network.
This is urgent! Please help,
Regards,
Ross

Re: [Only-Topic] Refused e-mail addresses
Hello
We are going to try a new script this morning to allowed more email adresses to be accepted. In fact the problem is that each email is tested on a mail server to check if it's really exists (in order to prevent a lot of spambots). So if the answer is negative, the email is considered as invalid, and it appears to be often the case with work email.
I hope the new script will solve this problem.
Let me know if it works well !

Hi, I tried today and still not working for emails at yahoo.co.uk, blueyonder.co.uk.
Quite a few new members had to be registered by me using my addresses.

Hope you will find a solution soon
Thank you

Re: [Only-Topic] Refused e-mail addresses
I've got a response.
Actually, the Editboard owner (the big boss) forgot to update the script (nobody's perfect ), so it's still the old one which is in place. The changes should be done today or next Monday.

Re: [Only-Topic] Refused e-mail addresses
The new script seems to have solved the problem, there's no more report and the French topic is in the garbage, so I will do the same.
