Domain Transfer Empty Domain Transfer

Post by -Josh on February 20th 2010, 4:58 am

I bought a domain with a hosting site, hosting24.com and I wanted to make that the domain over here. When I do a redirect it won't change the name of the forum. I talked to the hosting company and they said I had to talk to the forum host and ask them for a transfer, and they could transfer the domain. How do I go about doing this?

Basically,
I don't want the regular forumotion domain, and I already bought another domain, and want that domain for this site.

I read that, but my host isn't that simple, If i did that anyway, would that make it so when they type in my domain, it doesn't show the .darkbb.com URL at end of the site?

Well you need to set it up on the place where you got your domain name from.

The only thing you do it on the forum end, is to add in the admin panel?

Here is what they told me

Please give us an ALIAS subdomain name that we could point to these forums.

Contact us for a consultation or with any additional questions you may have.

--- So where do I get that?

OMG, here is what they replied

Do You host darkbb.com on our servers?

I replied.... No I do not, they are a seperate site.

Then they replied... You would have to ask for darkbb.com webhosting support to do this.

May I remind you that double/triple posting isn't tolerated unless separated by 24 hours (Use the edit button) Wink

All setup needs to be done on their end, i told you about the only change you do on forumotion in my previous post.

I have a trouble like U. My forum address is http://Rachkien.forump.info and I have a domain http://rachkien.com I really don't know how to add them 2 become one. It just can forward http://Rachkien.forump.info to http://rachkien.com, but the forum address still is http://Rachkien.forump.info, How can I do to make it become rachkien.com? Althought I have read the help at https://help.forumotion.com/frequently-asked-questions-f5/redirect-an-extern-domain-name-that-you-own-to-your-board-t7021.htm
