Registration e-mails issue
Hi everybody, I have a really strange problem. A few members of my form complained for the fact that they are receiving some Welcome to the forum e-mail from member@forumotion.com after they registred.
They thought that it was spamming as I have an announcement on my forum where I mention the fact that new members won't receive an account confirmation e-mai as their accounts are automatically activated.
I think it's a bug since I'm sure that it can be disabled in User&Groups, User options.
I'm sure that this is a recent issue as some of my friends who registred told me that they didn't receive any confirmation e-mail before.
I hope that someone can help me.
Thanks in advance

They will get emails saying your account is created by waiting for Admin to approve and once admin activate the account they get an email saying they did.

Yes but I set it to automatic activation so they should not receive an e-mail. Although they are still receiving one after registration. I think it's a recent bug I'm sure that it wasn't before. Maybe it can be fixed.
Edit: I noticed that I'm also receiving e-mails from board@forumotion.com everytime a member send me a private message or want to join a group. I don't know if it's in any relation with the registration e-mails. But what I know for sure is that I never received any e-mails of this kind before.
Please help.

Thanks but I never received any e-mail before, is there a way to disable it.
And I'm also sure that a few weeks back no new registred member ever received any mail after registring.
Any idea how to turn it off? I already disabled the contact form.

Re: Registration e-mails issue
Get them to ban the mail address on their mail account.
That's what a lot of my members have done.

Hello,
You can stop these emails by changing both of the below settings
In the Profile (Via the Navigation bar)
Click preferences > Allow newsletter= No > Save
Notify by mail when a new message has arrived in your in-box = No > Save
Warning: This will STOP sending you EMail alerts to you when you receive a new PM
In the Admin panel
Users & Groups ( Tab ) > user options > Send notify email on new user registrations = None > Save
Both of these ways combined will stop any new Emails

Re: Registration e-mails issue
Thanks a lot darren! But I still get an registration e-mail from member@forumotion althought I followed your instructions. I even set it to automatic accounts activation. Could you please try to register a new account on your forum and tell me if you're receiving the e-mail too? Thanks

I found the option, thanks again, but I'm still receiving that e-mail notification after creating a new account.

Give it 20 mins and it should stop sending the email, sometimes it takes a bit for the DB ( DataBase ) to recognize that query
