A Quote from Dion. I agree to his words:

    Dion wrote:Voted NO.

Even if forumotion thought about adding a new board, the first thing they would do is throw away the server-side code. Why? Because all four of their current boards use a highly-hacked phpBB2 server-side PHP engine. That's why forumotion forums can be hacked, that's why searches are so terrible, and that's why a number of really great phpBB3 and Invision features have never been added. And they won't be added until forumotion puts some effort into upgrading the server-side code, and then does a complete rewrite of the admin control panel (which is also phpBB2-based). FYI, this is the reason PunBB was added as a theme -- its internal engine was compatible with phpBB2, which is why PunBB has template editing.

One can build a beautiful building with lots of incredible visual appeal, but if the foundation is bad and starts to fall apart, the entire building comes down. Right now I see cracks in the foundation of forumotion's forums. I think it's time for forumotion to stop adding more visual appeal and to instead focus on fixing the cracks. The client side is glitzy, but the server side is decrepit.

So to get back to MyBB. Most of the features you list are IMPOSSIBLE to implement here on forumotion, because they're in the server-side code. forumotion already has four themes from which to choose. They don't need another that would have virtually the same set of features as the other four.

Dion has spoken...for the last time here. I can be found on ego-one. Have fun!

    hmm that was really impressive
and i agree if forumotion starts fixing thier cracks and adding some more options with security measurments it would be the BEST

will the topic be alive ? or its getting to be closed ?
