how to lock topic?

can anyone tell me how to lock topic so members can see that topic but could not read that topic plz help me

Well to lock a topic is simple, just go to the topic that you want to close and scroll down to the bottom of the page. There you have the Quick mod tools and you can select from there lock topic and then click on go, in addition you also have the ability to lock a topic by clicking on the lock topic button just above the quick mod tools.But as I understand you want to close a topic and let your users see it but not be able to read it. This you can do in the admin panel.Go to Forum=>Forum Permissions Control and from there select the forum that you want.Click on view the forum(for members or guests, your choice) and unclick read the topics so that your users cannot read the topic.
