Smart Censor

Problem:
Members taking censored words and putting numbers and symbols instead of a letter. This bypasses the censor.
Example: Say the word "Donkey" is censored. A member can post "Donk3y" to bypass the censor.

Solution
Well, I was thinking the forums are in need of a smart censor function.
In the smart censor we can put in symbols that someone may replace for a letter.
Such as the number "1" for the letter "I." Or the "@" symbol instead of an "A." The number "0" instead of the letter "O." Ect. Ect.
This will allow our word censors to be more precise.

Now lets use "Donkey" as an example again. Lets say the number "3" was smart censored as the letter "E." if "Donk3y" was found in a post, the smart censor would act on it as if it said "Donkey." Thus the word would be censored and one less rule broken.

You can always manually do this but it'll take a while.

Why is it not necessary? People avoiding curse censors is unnecessary. I would do it? Helps stop flamers and racism when an administrator or moderator is not online.

Say the word "Donkey" is censored. A member can post "Donk3y" to bypass the censor.

If somebody make a mistake in a word, the censor will write "censored". After that will come moderator and give a warning to that person. Its not good idea.
The problem is that there are plenty of these word combinations. Its not possible to make such censor.
Anyway: you have to take a few moderators to keep your forum clean from any kind of bad words. If few moderators are not enough - take more. If no, why do we need them?

I like that idea. Voted yes.
It's really hard to manage it. An example, if word hack is censored, user will write h@ck. And it won't be censored. We'd proboably need that.

I voted no, this could cause too many problems with clarification of things. Besides, you can also use HTML or BBcode tags to bypass the censor.

You're wrong on #2. There is a group called lolwutgoats that spams/hacks forums. I banned the username "goat" and then more registered as "g0at"

I think if you have a rank "Admin" on your forum, you have to take care of it.
If everything will do the machine what are you going to do on your forum?
Censor will replace words, bot will make topics and reply to users. This what you want to make from the forums.

Actually, I am with you on this. I put up a word censor cause I was tired of seeing the F Bomb on my site over stupid stuff and the next day everyone was already bypassing the censor with weird spellings. It was like, "Well, what's the point?"
