Text - White On White
Hello!
When you choose white in the forum template for the generic forum text, it is impossible to view what you type since the typebox
itself has a white background. How do you change the background color in the text box?
Cheers
Robert

Try the following CSS. It assumes that the ID the text area you use for creating and replying to posts is textarea_content:
- Code:
textarea#textarea_content {
background-color:COLOR;
}

Re: Text - White On White
I have a similar problem so rather than open another thread can you maybe help?
when I use the dropdown menus on my site the background and the text are black, I need the background to stay black - for posting etc, but the text I cant seem to find where to change that?? my general text colour is blue so it is not the same one...hope I make sense, if not let me know and I will give you the site address so you can see for yourself...
I also notice that when I scroll over the search box and those in the profile fields that the colour goes from colour to black - please could you help with this also?
thanks in advance....

Re: Text - White On White
If I've understood what you've said you have a select box with both black background and text. Not knowing the ID or class the best I can give you is the CSS below. I sort of make the assumption you want the text white and the background black but I am sure you can change the colors yourself.
- Code:
select{color:#fff; background-color:#000;}

Re: Text - White On White
thank you so much - I will try it now and let you know, any ideas on the other problem with the profile text boxes?
Re: Text - White On White
I'm not exactly sure what you mean but textarea {CSS} will affect all text areas on your site.

you can see what I mean if you look at the search box at the top right of the screen and roll your mouse over the box, it happens in all the profile boxes too...

Re: Text - White On White
Ok, well the colour inside of any of the boxes and text areas seems to be working fine but I am using FF, I've not tested your site on IE yet. The discoloration you are talking about; do you mean the borders around the areas as you mouse over them or the text to the left of many of the areas?

Re: Text - White On White
Thank you,
I mean the borders of the box as you mouse over them.
Someone kindly gave me CSS to have the colour of the text on the left handside turn white as moused over.
as you have kindly joined to have a look, when you go to profile - the tabs at the top - information, preferences,signature etc.. they are blue, then white when moused over, but when clicked they are grey and then when moused over black.... - I am so sorry I am probably making no sense.....
thank you again

Ok, so what color do you want the borders in all their phases? When hovered over, ect.

Re: Text - White On White
Ok, I've looked at your CSS on your site and you have a whole bunch of stuff affecting your input boxes...some of it is redundant but either way you have an area that is as follows:
This is the part you want to change.
- Code:
.inputbox:hover {
border:1px solid #010000;
}
.inputbox:focus {
border:1px solid #010000;
color:#41E0DD;
This is the part you want to change.

Re: Text - White On White
mmmm ok thanks,
how could you see all that as a member? just curious...
and do I need to put that code on the CSS sheet and just change the colours (is there 3 colours?) to the ones I want - or is there a different way...
could you explain more about the 'stuff affecting your input boxes' please - and is there anything I can change - or would it be better for someone that knows what they are doing????
thanks again - you have been very helpful

The source is easily accessible to anyone who knows how to look...heck, I didn't even need to be a member. Simply view source and look at the attached CSS document.
But yeah, I'll look at the css again and post the relevant CSS since I cant think of a way for the both of us to live view and edit a document.
