Tell-a-Friend facility Empty Tell-a-Friend facility

Post by Guest September 18th 2007, 20:31

I'd like to suggest that a "Tell-a-Friend" Facility be an optional built-in feature for our Forums.

I had the Bravenet "Tell-a-Friend" online form for quite a while, and it was being used quite a lot & brought new Users in to my Forum. Then discovered that Bravenet had discontinued their Tell a Friend Service. Have searched all over the web to find an alternative, but so far have found nothing else suitable.

Cas Very good

PS; I thought we could add a Poll to suggestions topics, but don't seem to be able to on here at present. Tell-a-Friend facility Guish2

Hello I think that would be kind of cool to have a feature like that added to refer friends or people to your forums.I too have seen similar features like this on other websites I have been on. I'd like to see if they could incorperate this into the system somehow. Might turn out to be very handy. So I vote Yes! thumright

I guess it would be nice, get a fresh cycle going around your site if you have no advertisement. I'll vote yes.

Hello Glad to see that others also think it would be a good idea. Thanks Caihlem for adding the Poll.

Still hoping that a Tell a Friend feature will be included as part of our Forums set up, but in the meantime - thanks very much zinex for this info.............You're a Star!!........... salut

You wouldn't believe the hours I've spent trying to find something as quick
and easy as that!! Shocked just copy/paste the code. Brilliant!! no online forms to submit, no inapprorpriate advertising, its great!! I've now added it to my site.

But still hoping that Editboard/Forumotion will include one later as part of our Forums package, & I've added my "Yes" vote to the Poll. With the Bravenet one, you could keep a check on it - see how often the referrer email had been used & how many Users had responded via the link.

Cas

Thank you
