Lost control of admin panel

Hi all,

I have recently taken over a forum and although the previous owner has made provisions for me to take over (including changing the admin email and admin password), I have since then been unable to make changes on the admin panel.

I understand from searching that the likely solution is to contact admin in here to correct the issue.

Do let me know if this is the right course of action and if further information is needed.

Thanks for the prompt response. There are no errors. It's just that changes are not saved. I cannot remove users using my admin account. I can't even ban myself for that matter. Razz

Try accessing the admin panel using anonymouse.org see if it works.

The thing is I am not the founder. He gave me the admin log in before he relinquished the forum to me. I was able to use the admin panel to change stuff and run the forum.

However I lost control of the admin panel after I changed the email associated with the admin account. I have even gotten his log in to try to access the utilities hoping that I can find a fix for this problem but to no avail.

All I'd like to know if there's something I can do such that changes made as an Admin can be saved as I can't do that now. I can't change a member's login, cannot delete a member or even ban them because the changes are not saved at all after clicking 'save'.

I have tried it on IE, firefox and google chrome but it still doesn't work.

Hope this clarifies the problem somewhat.

Yes, on at least 3 other systems.

If it's of help, the last recorded action when I look under statistics, is founder profile modification. It is also after that change when everything stopped working.

Hope this last bit of information helps.
