Full page header
My website will be going under a huge redesign and we've set the week for planning to this week, and already have begun testing and brainstorming.
Anyway, i want a header on the site that fits widely fully on the screen. As in it ends and begins where your screen ends and begins. Realizing that many people will have bigger or smaller computers I've come up with a good way to keep it correct for everyone, just make it reasonably long enough keeping all the best detail in the center where 99% of users visiting the site would be able to see with ease. The rest would just be background filler. However. We've discovered that making it a little long causes the scroll bar to come up and this will be very annoying. Is there anyway to disable that pesky scroll bar?

Re: Full page header
Not a single reply? Please i really need this help. It's really holding us back.
Re: Full page header
Why? I don't really think it's needed. The question is if there is a way to disable the horizontal scroll bar OR an alternative to keeping the header the way i wanted without worrying about it being too wide for someone else's computer. I figured it could be possible by making the header part of the actual BG, but I'm skeptical about it.Gangstar15 wrote:screen shot?
but if you really need a screen shot here. (Mind you, that's not the legitimate site, it's a test site, we're testing all the designs and layouts etc on it before implementing it to the real website at the moment we've only been worrying about the layout first, hence why this header problem is really holding us back.)
Re: Full page header
Oh right.
Where it says "not the real deal...yet" is where the header would go. I removed the test header in the picture because it was annoying having to scroll left and right.

Re: Full page header
Anyone know the banner code in CSS? I would be so grateful you'll finally take away the barrier holding me back.
Re: Full page header
Please for the love of god.
If this information helps, the header is actually the "logo" image.

Re: Full page header
Negative. Maybe..if instead of having it uploaded directly from the image manager in the logo section. I embed the picture up there somehow as a table type perhaps (or not if it does not matter) making the width 100%. Or maybe I'm just crazy..Gangstar15 wrote:hmm try:

#banner {
width:100%;}
