Good Idea or no?
FTP Support
Okay, without FTP, you cannot get ANYWHERE near the capability of a good site, this means no flash, no GOOD custom java, no GOOD custom HTML. I like that we have some freedom, but for those who PURCHASE a domain for $20, they deserve some FTP support -_- We pay for the domain, we deserve freedom to edit it to our liking. It's simple! I want to add some good flash to my site and I can't. Please, someone tell me why this would be bad?

Re: FTP Support
I don't see this going anywhere as forumotion is way to picky about this sort of thing. But as a option, you can save your flash files to fileden and link to them when you embed. That's what I have done.

Re: FTP Support
Well, there is no way to embed it on the site! I couldn't find a way to put a flash file on my site :l
It still would be good though, whether they are "picky" or not. It would boost the ratings -_-

Re: FTP Support
What do you mean no way of embeding it on the site?
My main logo is is flash as well as my intro page and they both are hosted on fileden but I embeded them on my forum.
Believe me I wish like crazy that forumotion would give us ftp. But it will never happen and there are way to many people against it on here for some reason. Me not being one of those. I think it would rock.

Re: FTP Support
Can you give me some kind of code? I am trying to embed it on the top left of my main page, but it keeps saying "Movie not loaded..."

Re: FTP Support
Here you go. Just replace he your flash link with your flash where ever you have it hosted at and be sure to adjust the height and width to match your flash file sizes.
- Code:
<embed src="YOUR FLASH LINK" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="175" height="200"></embed>

Re: FTP Support
No.
Your saying forumotion is taking rights from you, but it was only early this year that we were given rights to actually add attachment's.
DataBase access = Already denied a bazillion times.
FTP = Part of a DB = Denied.
You can host your scripts else where & work from there.
But otherwise, I wouldn't mind having it

Re: FTP Support
Ok I see the problem right off the bat now. Your flash file must end with the .swf. Try hosting it at file den it's free, then go to your files and right click on your file and get the url. It should end with .swf then it will work.

Re: FTP Support
Yeah!
It's awesome. I've made a forum based for LittleBigPlanet2 (A game for PS3) and it just makes the whole thing!
Check it out sometime if you like! I'll send you a link.
