HOW DO ADMIN'S DO STICKIES?

Ive been Admin of the forum for ages now (www.tropicalfishfanatics.forumsmotion.com), and to be honest it more or less runs itself.

Tonight though I want to make a post a 'stickie' and just don't seem to be able to do it.

I have looked at previous questions about stickies and found this answer -

When you create your thread, or edit the first post of an existing one, you will have additional options below the text editor box (does not work with quick-reply or when editing a reply):

but, I don't see any of this on my screen, I just don't get these options.

I go on the first post, click edit, get the post displayed, underneath that I get OPTIONS (no + sign), then ADD A POLL (various options for number of days etc), and that's it.

No mention of stickies/announcements or anything!

Can someone please tell me why this is and how I go about sorting it out.

Ok start "new Topic" or "edit" topic and then scroll down past where you enter the topic text and then there should be a part saying sticky, anoucement/ Global anounce.

It should be called "Options", click it to open if its not open already. Heres a view of it, Hope this help, Thanks, Max

MRU Max, it's a little hard to get to that option if the '+' isn't there

Kirkby1red, head to: Admin panel >> Display > Pics management/Advanced mode > Mini Icons > find the selection for "+" and add this url to the box on the right hand side: https://2img.net/i/fa/subsilver/tabs_more.gif > make sure the box under it isn't ticked (The one that says "hide") > save.

I have inserted the url as suggested (there already was info in the box which I deleted and replaced with the one given above), but I still cannot open the OPTIONS box - there still isn't a + symbol.

Any other suggestions?

Mind taking a screenshot of the area under the reply box?

This may seem like a silly question, but have you tried scrolling to the right?

I have tried to take a screenshot, hope it works ok.

Try going back to the pic management and see if the "+" or "-" or blue if so enter what Darren1 gave you.

Ive already done what Darren1 suggested and it didnt make any difference,

I dont know if thiis is relevant or not, but I have just gone onto my forum via IE instead of Moxilla Firefox as above. On Internet Explorer when I go on EDIT I can't even get the ADD a Poll option!

Did you see that + icon on the right side?

No, there is no + sign anywhere

Here is the solution.
Display>Pics management
Advanced mode
Mini Icons Tab
For the + : https://2img.net/i/fa/subsilver/tabs_more.gif

For the - : https://2img.net/i/fa/subsilver/tabs_less.gif

Add those urls.
save.

Then, see if it works.

Install a new skin from hitskin.com since this skin's css looks improper.

I have re-installed the latest version of the same skin and all seems well now, problem solved
