Themed skins for different parts of Forum?
I tried running a search, but either couldn't get the words in the correct order or there isn't anything on this
Note to clarify before I begin - I'm NOT looking for a user-choice type deal.
I run a role play site that has different worlds as forums. Each Category is a different game. What I want to do is give each game (category) a different look (Medieval for Lystra, Space for Solar Exodus, Stargate for the different Stargate games, etc).
I saw on another post that this can possibly be accomplished through a self-hosted PHP script, but I am not familiar with this coding. The thread I'm referencing was for a random background or logo image.
I do have a way to host a PHP file on my own website server, so that's not an issue - I just need to know the code to assign skins to different forums, how to save it (grouped so the images are linked to the PHP code), and where to point that PHP code file to within the Forummotion Admin panel to execute it.
I'm guessing I would probably have to have a different PHP code for each game (category). I would also need to know how to assign this so the category calls up the code.

Re: Themed skins for different parts of Forum?
Hi,
The search bar is horrible anyways, it's hard to find anything hahaha.
Would you be able to link us the the thread if you know it by any chance?
I'm personally doubting that is is possible, even with the support of complex CSS/JavaScript, because forumotion doesn't support PHP.
Actually, now that I think about it, it couldn't be possible, because there's no way to determine what category/forum is what, even with the templates in PunBB & PHPBB2 there's no way to identify each individual category/forum.
So, I suppose that makes it not possible...

First, please don't hijack my thread- it's much easier for everyone else if you make your own, and also makes it search friendly.
Second, Darren... um...
https://help.forumotion.com/manage-the-appearance-of-your-forum-f45/background-randomizer-t75915.htm?highlight=background+repeat
Again, it was just a hint... but I'd really like to execute if someone could help me.

Sorry about the delay, Ive been a but flustered with things as of lately.
This isn't possible because there is no way to determine the different locations for the forum, even with the assistance of the templates, there is no code to differentiate the different board/categories.
The code given by hwystar in the linked thread is PHP, which, forumotion doesn't support
He also states that you need to access a DB folder, and the immediate use of php (<?php
code....................................................................................................
?>)
