User name taken but it is not

I have a user who tried to register his account and it said his user name was already taken. I am the Admin., I searched for it and no one has it. I also made sure it did not have one of the blocked words in it as well. There is a different forum that he is in that is also done by Forumotion and there is not a problem. Is there anything I can do to get him his username? The user name is krocko1

Are you sure about that cuz when it ask for that then the Username must been taking.

I found it. I was searching the user names, but he created an account and never activated it. The user name does not show in a search in the admin panel until it is activated but it registers as taken when you try to start a new account with the name.
