topic splitting itself.

Post by viol8r on 9/7/2006, 3:13 pm

i have a topic in my forum that gets a large amount of traffic. we use it as a chit chat place for certain members, but all are wecome to it. when it get a certain number of posts it splits itself in two different parts and locks one of them. the post count gets all screwed up so my users get confused trying to find the page they left off on. i've tried merging the split threads back together and it just goes right back to it. if this is an auto pruning issue then there must be something wrong, as auto pruning is turned off. i haven't been able to locate a setting to fix it, or another topic in this board talking about it. please help. my users are getting irritated with it.

huh? I though I replied to this... Confused My memory is tricking me..

Anyway, hello Wink

It's not possible to merge them. Once a topic exceeds 990 posts, it gets automatically splitted to avoid monopolizing users' connection to load the topic page.
