Solved Allowing HTML

Post by Kirbyarm December 19th 2010, 4:07 am

To reduce any confusion, I have enabled "Allow HTML" in my admin panel, and in my profile's preferences tab I enabled "Always Allow HTML"

This is great, I can see my own HTML. However all of the other users can't. They only see the code, even is I uncheck "Disable HTML in this message" for every post. So I have two questions.

1) How do you modify each user's preferences tab?

2) Is there a way to make it always default to allow in a newly registered user's preferences tab?

Thanks in advance.

1) You can't modify it for all users in a go. They have to do it themselves.

2) No.

I don't recall saying its possible. I said its possible to do it one by one for each user. There is no such option as of yet.

I said "You can but it would be one by one." Which means you need to go to users profile and turn it on.

So do you mean there's an option to change their HTML preferences in the admin panel user -> profiles section, or that you have to log into the user's account and enable it?

I'm willing to do either. However, the HTML / BB Code options are unable to be toggled in the admin panel.. at least as far as I can see.

There is no such option in the admin panel to turn bbcode/html on for everyone.

Users will need to do that themselves or you can go into their profile in the admin panel and activate. But you will need to go through all the users to do this. Which is going to take a while if you have a lot of users.

Solved Re: Allowing HTML

Understood, sorry I asked so many questions. It's unfortunate, but at least I won't lose all my work for having to disable HTML entirely (I heard it could let users cause a lot of damage with the java script) because I didn't realize BB Code could do pretty much all of the same basics, and that is default enabled in preferences for all users. It was the welcome message I was so determined about, which would make them read their message without being warned to enable HTML, so you could see my frustration haha. Thank you, sir. I'll mark as solved.
