I tried logging into my forum and found that the screen came up very strange. I logged out and it seemed to clear the problem.

This is what I am seeing on my home page

i am not sure whats happened or why it only appears like that when I log in.

Anyone able to help

Have you tried it on a different browswer?
Also make sure your computer and browswer is up to date as well.

Oh and is it only when you log in?

I am having a similar problem, it is not with my home page but with my other pages.

Yes it only happens when I log in.

when I am logged out the screen is normal and all the categories and forums appear as normal.

I'm having the same problem. I log in and the first few forums in the first category, along with the category name, just dissappear.

My problem is in the who's online section and members list as well as the welcome page most info is missing or just un readable

Could this possibly be a problem on forumotion's end? Maybe they are having some technical difficulties? I don't understand how the display of the forum could only be effected when logged in

I think it must be a forumotion technical hitch as it definitely only happens hte moment I log in. Everything is fine up until that point.

well i tried to register but it wants me to put my facebook in there.. and i dont have a facebook account that i use anymore because i hate facebook.. lol

So i would have to see if it's doing it on my end with testing different browsers as well.

Okay. Everything is perfect when I go to the page. When I log in. This is what happens. Please excuse the crappiness I did this in paint for lack of a quicker way.

THen when I go look at members/groups etc I just get a lot of jumbled up coding.

I have logged on to my forum and I didn't get an issue. You can try two things:

Clear your browsers cache: Click here to lean how
Resync your forum: ACP > General > Forum > Configuration > Resynchronize your forum: Check that and save

it was working only HOURS ago... i am the only admin, and i changed nothing.

Cleared cache, etc... no change to forum... issue not fixed.

I CANNOT (repeat CANNOT) get into Administration, now.
when i go there (as administrator) it says i am not registered!

FAIL!

tried in Chrome... admin panel accessible... THIS IS NOT ON OUR END!.. This needs to support IE!

re-synched forum in Admin Panel... no change in IE.

There is a reason why people don't use or prefer Internet Explorer, it has too many problems, one including issues like displaying webpages correctly. If it works in Chrome, then use Chrome. Why use a browser that you know doesn't work?

1st, you have to log in to see the issue... would you like a user name and pass?... maybe then you'll see (using IE, of course).

Downloading and FF DID fix it, but a lot of people use IE that cannot be the end of this...

Clearred cookies, cache, everything.

Ran CCleaner as wel.

No change.

The point is I've been using the forum since November with no problem at all, on this PC with the same browser. Now when I log in it goes funny.

When you arrive as a guest it looks fine, but it doenst work the momebt you log in.

Yeah thats why i said i would need to see for my self.
If you want to create a temp member account. just send the user and pass to me in a pm..then you can delete or change it after i have a look.

Other then that have you guy's tried on a different browswer? IE Has realy went down the tubes and is pretty much garbage these days.. However right now i an testing the new beta IE9.. but still garbage... lol

But if you make a temp pass i will test with IE FireFox,flock and chrome. and see whats what.

*sigh*... i appreciate you trying to help, but don't give bad advice... telling the adminstrator of a forum to use Chrome doesn't help the users of the forum who don't use Chrome... so your "experience" on the forum apparently isn't helping... we need a Developer to fix this.
so, sorry for my frustration... but you've helped all you can.

I use IE mainly because everything is set up for me on there. If I have to get a new browser, set it all up again, and (if I ever GET users) tell them that they can't use the forum simply because their browser is rubbish, so be it. But that doesn't seem fair so if this EVER gets resolved... let me know -_-

WIth all due respect, but I wouldnt say its very customer friendly when my members say to me "why isnt it working" and I reply "well some bloke on the forum advice forum said its because you are stupid and using a crappy browser".

The fact is many of my members use IE ( and incidentally do I ). I dont like nor want Chrome of Firefox, and my forum was working fine this morning, now it isnt.

Is it too much to ask for a bit of advice without being sneered at and told its my own fault because I happen to think Chrome is a load of crap.

rvolt24 and myself have worked it out between us. I never said you were stupid for using IE. I said that IE has a bad tendency to crash and not work. If you would like to report this issue, you can PM Typlo and he then will alert the technicians of the forums and they will try to work it out if it is a problem on their side. I am sorry for any misunderstandings and I hope you can get this problem resolved.

Edit: I have logged onto my forum on IE and I worked well. My threads are fine and everything. Except, my chat box isn't working. It shows my logo and the forum inside of the chatbox window. Is this what you guys are having?

actually, my chatbox is working fine... and i've discovered a new wrinkle... i have a username which has (very) limited access to the forum... when logged in with it, everything appears fine... but users with greater access to more sections of the forum have an issue... like the greater the access the worse the problem.

i have given Kirk a pass, so hopefully this will get worked out... i think this will take a Dev (or miracle) to work out.
