Seo optimization
Hello forumotioners,
I have a question. I would like someone who is good at seo optimization and/or web design to give me a short answer. I have bought a new domain, and with forum-motion.com one I had great number of visitors daily.
Now, when I type my new domain name in google it doesn't show up. I guess it needs some time to show up there. But the question is, should I redirect my hyperlinks from old domain ( forum-motion.com one ) with my new one ( domain.com ) or to be more specific, will I loose my visitors if I do that.
Thanks

Re: Seo optimization
Example:
This is my old domain :
www.example.forum-motion.com
and this is my new domain that I bought from forum-motion. www.example.com
When I type in google www.example.com it shows www.example.forum-motion.com and that is not a problem. My question is what will happen if I redirect my old domain www.example.forum-motion.com to www.example.com ? Will I loose my visitors or will it remain the same ?

Re: Seo optimization
Google needs time before it addresses new domains. As shailesh123 said, you must add your site to google as you did for your original forum. Also, don't forget to add your site to yahoo and bing.
About SEO, there are tons of online guides available on internet where you can read about some basic advices which will surely help you. At least they've helped me.
First, you need to make a redirection link to your new site and with time, your site will surely take place over first one. But only if you invest same amount of work as you have done till now. Cause for google, it's just another site.

Re: Seo optimization
Hi,
Generally when you buy a domain name you can access for your via your old domain domain.forumotion.com and via your new domain.
If this is not the case go the admin panel --> General --> Personalised domain and force url redirection: Yes.
