Admins-what can they do? Empty Admins-what can they do?

Post by BC Staff February 27th 2011, 10:12 pm

Hi, I have just lost my only Admin since he needed to be free to get on with his own forum, I understand that but now I need a new Admin! I just want to be assured that Admins can't delete my forum, right? Its hard to know who to trust so I don't want to be able to delete my forum or have any huge power that could ruin my forum.

Founders are the only ones who can delete, edit own account, back up, install themes, and buy/spend credits.

hmmm, I am not the original founder. I am now the owner but never was before. Does this not effect anything?

If you have access to the founder account (Number 1 Account) you can do anything. If you don't have access. then you won't be able to do those.

No, I don't have access to it but I am ranked as the owner and can do everything what the founder could do. eg install a new banner, change the look. delete people, delete the forum and basically everything. The founder is no longer ranked and I have replaced him but on a different account

If you don't have access to the founder account you can't do what I said above.

Have I answered your question or are you confused still?

Hello BC Staff,

I have highlighted some key evidence that you have provided me in your post. Wink

"I am ranked as the owner"
Ranks do not change any permissions, they are only used for aesthetic (look) purposes. Just because you are ranked as the owner does not mean that you are actually the founder.

"...replaced him but on a different account"
There is only one founder account on the forum. If you have, as you say, replaced him on a "different account" then that does not make you the actual founder; only an administrator in charge.

From the above information, I can conclude that you are not the founder. If you would like to be the original founder because it has its features that MrMario mentioned earlier, then please consider reading this topic: https://help.forumotion.com/t81878-recovery-or-change-founder-of-an-account

NOTE: There are certain regulations and requirements in which your forum must satisfy in order for the process to continue. Very Happy

Regards,
