Specific user group can't access the forum
I've recently set up a new user group and when they log in they go to the portal (homepage) fine, but when they try go to the forum page it bounces them back to the homepage.
If they click a current topic from the 'recent topics' widget on the home page they can access the topics, its just the forum index they can't.
What is going wrong?
This user group settings are quite restricted in what they can view.

I've not touched any codes, it now seems that the problem only occurs on IE and when going through the redirection URL.

Re: Specific user group can't access the forum
I can instantly see that you're using a .co.nr free domain. I think that may be causing the problem as it's not a real domain, but only a domain masker. It can cause problems with cookies and such. Here is a quote from The Godfather himself on free "domains":
Are your members only experiencing a problem with the redirection URL or the direct URL?
The Godfather wrote:
Do never ever use those kind of fre domains with your forums !! there are not a domain but a virtual dns that include your forum in a kind of iframe!!! Search engines hate that so your forum will desapers from google with time...and it add a lot of advertising pop-up to your site, so your members will go away!! it can cause a technical problems to! it may cause an inconvenient logout...!
so, never use free domain with your forums!!

Re: Specific user group can't access the forum
just the redirection URL.... i have put up an announcement on my site stating that all users should use the Direct address. Just odd it only affects the 'Affiliate Member' group.
Thanks for the help and taking time to check it out :-)

Re: Specific user group can't access the forum
You're welcome! Once again, never use redirection URLs as they are full of problems. The direct URL will always work.
