Re: Forum Layout
Go to Admin Panel and choose advanced
Hit General Tab
Choose Categories and Forums on left hand side.
This will then show you your categories and forums on your board.
On the right hand side of each category/forum are the action choices. Choose the cog (modify) symbol
which then opens the category/forum details up.
There is a box in the details that says "Image URL :"
In this box put the address of the image you wish to add then save. It will then add the pic as you require.

Re: Forum Layout
I can show you lol cos thats my forum!
You first need to use Forums instead of categories - so you have a main forum and sub forums inside it. If you already used categories then you will need to change this when the forum is not in use as it does mess it up for a while til you finish, and set aside a bit of time as its quite fiddly.
So create a new Forum, then move your sub forums into that.
For example a section like 'All About BANDA' is a forum, then the 4 sub forums are inside that.
Then on the main forum, for example 'All about BANDA', you need to enter code into the description box, as shown here, this code is going to link to each of your sub forums (its a good idea to copy all your sub forum links onto notepad first and have your image URLs ready too):
Once you have moved all the sub forums into the main forum you will need to delete the empty categories.
Finally you need the index packing set to Split categories on index :Medium to show like mine
Thats it!
Let me know if you don't get what I'm saying!

- Spoiler:
<table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="5" cellpadding="5">
<tr>
<td width="31"><a href="LINK TO SUB FORUM" >
<img src="YOUR ICON URL FOR THIS SUB FORUM" width="50" height="50" border="0" alt="" />
</a></td>
<td width="279"><a href="LINK TO SUB FORUM" >NAME OF THE SUB FORUM</a><br></td>
</tr>
</table>
The bit in blue - repeat that for each sub forum, remembering that the order you place these is the order it will appear - regardless of how the sub forum was original placed on the forum
Once you have moved all the sub forums into the main forum you will need to delete the empty categories.
Finally you need the index packing set to Split categories on index :Medium to show like mine
