Solved Advert On My Forum

Post by Glad E Olah June 5th 2011, 4:04 pm

I have a long time member who has threatened to leave my forum because of an advert he sees. I have told him that I have set the members not to see adverts but guests will. I have also told him that I have no control over what is advertized. The following link can be read by guests so if you like check it out. I have mentioned I was coming here for support for this issue and would post in the thread the answer.

Thank you so much.

Glad

Yes, that is what I thought too. Forumotion is kind enough to allow us to omit the ads from members. I also suggested the member set his browser to not see adverts.

Thank you for your reply Nera.

I think that the best thing you could do is report an innapropriate ad to forumotion and hope that they remove it.

If he/she is using firefox get the Adblock plugin https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865

Thank you Drogba921 for your comment and suggestion.

I cannot see the advert because I do have adblock on my FF. Perhaps I should see the adverts but every site I would go to I would see them.

I tried using IE to see the advert and it was not showing at that time. I will log in on IE from time to time to view ads

Thank you TGC Hardcore. I had a chat with the member and removed the thread from the location it was in. I have told members if they did not like ads then block them if they are not signed in.

Admin can close this thread if need be.
