Hello, Forumotion server is already in the U.S., you could not do in Europe, in Europe but most Forumotion forums? (Germany, England, Spain, France, Portugal, and so on ..) In the U.S. there is Forumotion not it? Then our forums yet were so quickly?

Re: Server location
so what are you saying?
your forum is slow because the server is in the U.S.?
Honestly i am not sure where the servers are located, i thought they were in France to be honest.. but know they do have more then one as well.
May be a admin or other staff member can clarify this for you, i am unsure ?

Re: Server location
Hi,
Just a minor correction, the servers are located in, and maintained in Nice, France.
Your forums 'quickness' as you have described could be because of your internet speed, or the pure awesomeness of the servers
Kirk, there's several, all located I believe in the same room, for quick maintenance.
I actually know the exact address hehehe

lol how do you know this?
I dont see how this is a support questions, the server will have nothing to do with your speed. Anything to do with your speed will be on your end with how fast your comuter is or your service provider.. sure sometimes servers can run a lil slow if there are a lot of people on.. but it's not going to effect it like you think and the speed relies on your end of the computer or computer service not forumotions servers.
Do you need some sugestions or pointers on how to posibly get better performence out of you computer? If not then i seeno reason to leave this thread open.
I mean i can get on sites in russia or china on russian servers in a matter of seconds and the speed is the same as if i am on a server from U.S.
www my friend world wide web lol

Re: Server location
Servers in near are faster, because the time of data transmission is shorter.
An my Server is staying in the U.S. and My Load time show me, that the access time is faster when I'm in New York as if I'm in Dublin.
//EDIT: Here are the Servers: http://maps.google.de/?q=32.7825+-96.8207&t=h&z=6

Re: Server location
Your connection speed is dependent on what you receive from your Internet Provder or (ISP), and the speed of the servers, which is super fast, so it comes down to your internet service provider giving you xkbs speed.
Don't fret, the servers are in Nice, France - That is a fact. How do French techs work with French servers if their in another country? They can't.
The servers are masked to hide their actual true address which cannot be given out. Unless u try hard to find out the address, you will only see the masked version on their location.
The servers NEVER came from the US!

Re: Server location
well i always thought forumotion servers were through a large telecommunications company?
At one time i thought IBM had the account and then forumotion switched to something else a couple years ago.
I could be mistaken, i have been doing forums stuff for so long with so many different host and companies i cant remember anymore... lol
So what ever the case i still do not see how this is a support problem?
I leave room for a couple more replies then then will lock the thread.

Re: Server location
You are right kirk, we did go to IBM at one stage, but because they couldnt supply a switch quickly enough to fix some issues, we went back to softlayer. which is our original servers, but this time, to higher specs then IBM offered.

yeah thought it was something like that.I think IBM messed up and dint provide what they initially offered, so then forumotion said told them to go jump in a lake and went else where... lol
