Tiling image behind banner?

Hi,

I'm trying to create an image below my forum banner via CSS. I had this working previously with altering the body ( attribute in my CSS, but this didn't work once I made a CSS background in the body attribute. So, it would be best if this could be done without altering the body attribute (or perhaps without altering any of the prexisting code, and be its own lines.)

Any way, I think this would be pretty simple to do: Just have a repeat-x image, positioned under the banner/main body of the forum and set at the top of the page. I tried coding it myself, but it didn't work out.
