Portal off of The Forum Index?

i use to be a forumotion expert 2 years ago then i stopped... i created a new website, and im feelin' stupid ... i don't know how to get the portal off of the main index... somebody help

Modules>Portal management
Show the portal : No
Save.

edit: no i got it, wat the prob was , the portal widgets were showing up on my homepage i needed to make it so it says dont display forum widgets

That was not your portal index then, it was your Modules>Forum widgets management.
