Hi, a few of my friends have a small forum on forumotion, and I told them I would hos tthe forum for them for free, I bought webspace and a domain name, I got phpbb installed but it seems forummotion doesn't have the function to backup everything and download said backup so I can use it on the new webspace? How would I do this? if this is a paid service please let me know, get back to me soon...

Loving the Dion Very Happy I was going to give a slightly more violent scraping option. Basically, forumotion won't let you do a lot of things, you can get around these things, and in the main it costs forumotion money.

With a little knowledge it's a win win situation. *Scraping a server stings quite a bit - everyone should scrape until they give us our info - which we own.*

We do not allow those sort of things to be posted, dion. They are illegal and should not be used. Please do not let me or anyone else see it again. Wink

Base, if the procedure described in that topic on phpbb.com was illegal, don't you think the good folks at eToxic would have contacted the phpBB Group sometime in the past 3+ years and had it deleted? The topic was created in March 2008, and it's been referenced here on several occasions in the past.

I guess it doesn't matter. Google is your friend. Wink
