Another Chatbox on forumotion forums

Hay all

Yes this is my first post but i have been reading this forums ever since i got my forum up, about 4 months ago

I was wondering if

1. can i make the default forumotion chatbox to user groups only,
or
2. If i can add another chatbox on the forums that connect to the database (or something) so people that sign up to the forums can login to the chatbox with there forum user name

A bit like the vbulletin dream's chatbox, i run a clan for Call of Duty 4, so i have levels on my forum, when i lock the server it would be easier to tell everyone by typing in the chat box that only my clan members can see and not the forums guest

I hope i make sense here, but having a second chatbox would help alot

1. Not possible
2. You can Search for a chatbox on Google and get the code of the chatbox and have it placed on widget or somewhere you like it

if i place it in the Homepage message under the display tab, can i set that for only some groups can see it?

No, sorry since there are no permissions to be adjusted on the homepage message, but for widgets, you can choose who can view it since there are rights to be adjusted for viewing.

There are advanced ways to go about this. What forum software do you use? (IE: phpBB 3.0, phpBB 2.0, Invision, ect)

Ok, you have templates then. At one point in time, I used an IRL chat for my forumotion website and in the embeded code, I added it to say { USERNAME } in the code so when a user chose to join the chat, their personal username would popup without any problem.

ok so how do i do that? i am using chatbutton atm for it, and want to set it to a group to view it

I'm not entirely sure on how to do it as that was over a year ago. But it is possible.

my forum is www.ep-clans.com (it has the chatbutton on so all guest can see it, but if i can change the default one, i will be happy lol

EDIT: also is there anyway to get a ajax chatbox on the forums, i here its a mod you have to install onto the ACP and is there another way around it?

Also if anyone knows a good chatbox and can be put onto the forums and people dont have to sign up to the chatbox after signing up to the forums please let me know,

ok ignore the above questions

i just want to know 1 thing

Can i make what ever goes on the home message under the display tab in the ACP so that only the groups i set it as can only see it, i dont care if its a Css code or a template code

If not

What else can be place up the top of the homepage that can be set a private (only user groups i set can see it) like the "HTML & JAVASCRIPT" thing (HTML pages management or the Javascript codes management)

i dont want it as a widget, i want it as something that will be up the top of the homepage (above or under the default chatbox)

Any help will be much appreciated and thanks in advance

I think there is some-kind of code in templates where only moderators or admins can see it. Hmm, does anyone know it? I seem to have drawn a blank.
