installing downloaded skins

i have skins i dled from a site for skins and i am trying to use those as my skin instead of the hitskins i go to theme management import skin and browse where my skin is located on my comp and open it and hit the import button it says import ended but my skin never changes am i doing something wrong? i would appreciate a little help thanx

What forum version are the skins you are trying to import and are they in php or html (htm) format?

if the skin has templates, then you can't change the templates in the phpbb3 version used on forumotion

you can only modify the phpbb3 version on forumotion with CSS script..You could host it on your own PC with a home server, or on a host site that allows you a shell account. That means it lets you set up your own directories on it's site.

ahh, thankyou that helps me too. i had similar problems but just gave up and used another hitskins skin instead.

Those skins are for properly hosted PhPBB2 forums, not free ones.
