Private PM's showing up in VISITOR MESSAGES

PLEASE ADVISE:

One of my members has been receiving PM's from people. These private PM's are showing up in his VISITORS MESSAGE section. This is a big problem,since private PMs sent to him are being displayed to the public. Is this a glitch? A special setting? It seems to be only this one member. Please advise, how can I fix this asap??

Hi!

Do you have visitor messages enabled? If so, then are you sure that these are actually private messages being sent and not just visitor messages? Smile

These are definitely sent PMs. I sent somebody a PM. I clicked on the send PM box when I sent it to them. Now, the same PM i sent him shows up on his visitor message list,and it is word for word what I sent him via PM.

Please advise? How can I disabled ALL VISITOR MESSAGES?

Posting consecutively is not tolerated unless separated by 24 hours since the last post. This is your second reminder about this.

To disable visitor messages, please go to:

1. Administration Panel (advanced mode)
2. Users & Groups Tab
3. Profiles (on the left, under Users)
4. Click on 'General options'
5. Uncheck 'Visitor messages' in 'Tabs to display'

I have no idea. Probably a bug / glitch in the system; if you want, you could keep it enabled and I could take a look?

Is the member moving the messages to his/hers savebox? When you look at the Savebox page, there is a button that says Move Selection To Profile.

New one to me? i never heard of this happening and was not aware you had the option to move saved messages to profile? Dunno why that is even a option?

SLG where do you see the option to save PM in your profile?
I dont see it here on this forum. I will have to check it out on my test board.

kirk, you can save messages by going to your inbox, checking the box next to the PM and then clicking 'Save Marked' at the bottom of the inbox. Smile

Exactly I do not see that option on the support forums. It could be because the support forum has the Visitor Message feature off. I am using Invision, and I have that option to send messages to my profile. The button appears on the Savebox page of the Private Message pages.

Yeah it has to be because visitor messages are not enabled here.
I just don't recall seeing the option to have them in your profile before..
