Hmm, I preffer image, but these images are not perfect for forumotion. Text is too simple, boring.

I prefer the text navigation bar for the support forum.

Image Navigation looks very very better than the texts :3

It don't make a difference to me as long as i can get where i have to go.
Text has always been on FM support for as long as i can remember, So it was a lil off at first when i seen the images, but now i am used to it and looks good to.
Although i would add a slight glow hover/mouse-over to it for more of a fuller effect
Not too much, just enough to give i a lil kick
Can be done real easy in css, i'll run it pass the boos

Like kirk, said doesnt matter, aslongest you get to your destination.

Yes, i agree with kirk, I think a effect will be very nice
