Last week is when it all started, the forums got slower and slower each day!

Here's whats happening:

  • Pages not fully loading

  • Thread Icons not appearing

  • 5+ second delay on Chatbox

today its not as bad but when I have more than 4 users online its a nightmare!

I think it can be related with your ISP ( internet service provider ). Sometimes during peak hour, your browsing speed will be slower than usual. Peace!

I am browsing forumotion.com from Borneo using my wireless broadband 3g and I don't have much problem surfing either forumotion.com or my own portal. Have you tried browsing my forum? ( again I am not promoting anything here ). What do you think regarding the browsing speed? blackeye

Try to do maintenance to your pc or laptop. I suggest that you defragment your c: and run your antispyware and antivirus to get rid the latest worm, spyware or virus that may slow down your browsing speed. i suggest that you upgrade to at least 4gb RAM if you are currently using 1gb RAM.

( Off topic: It's 11.39 am now in Borneo, Asia where I live and I understand that its night time in yours, so, thats the usual peak hour to surf the cyberspace ). Very Happy

My Page is ... kind of "blackscreen", but it's a whitescreen!
Completely white page, if i visit the admin panel everything's just white, too.

Re: Forum is getting SLOW

Post by kirk on April 13th 2009, 9:25 pm

Well i have had forumotion forums for a pretty long time now.
And yes time to time i have had every problem that you all are saying.
most of the time things will go back to normal after waiting a lil bit.

as far as it happening to a number of members at once. well that's a lil out of the ordinary.

the causes can be a lot of things as some of you stated above.
Anything form your server. to updating and riding your computer of any spy ware or viruses or even browsers. then at certain times when there are many people on a certain browser or sever that can and will also effect you speed and page loads.

then there always the possibility that forumotion could be doing maintness or updates to there data base, server etc..

so i dont know if theres really a straight answer or fix to ware this wont happen time to time. this seems like a question that a tech could probably answer the best. other then that it could be any of the things that were mentioned here?

and yes this happens to me time and time and always has.Just have to wait it out sometimes. oh and all the links here accept phamvanvien first link seem to be OK now. phamvanvien second link seems to be OK now too.

so that's my take on this. if i had an answer to help solve this for everyone i would surly post. may be a tech can help clarify and determine why this happens at times?
