Solved Usergroups under Forum Moderators same colour as links, user post detail background image and more Q's

Post by shadowolfozo on January 2nd 2012, 4:45 pm

Hey all, Shadow here

I got a couple of questions regarding my forum which can be found here. Warrior Wolves
I'm using Phpbb3
So let's get started:

Screenshots: (see questions for specific screenshot sections. done to reduce No. of screenshots)
Spoiler:

1) First off, within catergory/forum descriptions under 'Moderators' the links for usergroups are by default the same colour as the link colour you set in AP > Display > Colours but the red glow I recently added around admins now looks incredibly strange (the font colour being the same didn't bother me until now) so is there a way to turn the links to the usergroups back to their normal colours? (Picture 2, red boxes)

2) Due to the forum having an image as the background, the profile, view profile and things like that do not have the same grey box like posts do. I know this is because of the background image (which was added with CSS btw) is there a way to put a box with box colour #121212 and 2px outline border #333333 around all of the 'View profile' and 'edit profile' area/text?

3) In AP > Display > Colours there is two options to change both Administrator Font and Moderator Font colour, yet changing this and saving does nothing. Is there a special way to enable this elsewhere or is the feature not actually yet implemented into the FM system? Just curious, though it would come in handy. (See picture 1)

4) On my homepage I added an image behind the legend, is this possible within forums/catergories as well? If so, how?

5) By default there is a gap between a user's rank and their infomation (posts, points, etc.) Is there a way to reduce this gap or remove it altogether? (just so the jump between a Clan Leader's rank and Clan Badge isn't so oddly far apart.) (see Picture 3, Arrow 1)

6) Eh, sorry for all the questions XD I did try and search all this on the forums first Razz
I have been in the past able to set an image for behind the user's avatar, username, posts, etc. in a post and it was removed when I changed themes and lost the coding, but that's not the issue. Can I set this (code-wise) to user-specific so I can have different images for different users? e.g. Moderators have stars on black as an image and admins have moons on blue? OR

7) If the above is not possible, can I set it to JUST moderators and Admins?

8 ) there are lines (I think row lines) under things like 'Privileges' and 'Quick Reply'. How do I get rid of those without removing post background colour? (see Picture 2, Green boxes. The area has been lightened (via photoshop) to hopefully be able to see the lines better)

9) Lastly, can I shorten the width from the poster's details and the actual post? (see Picture 3, Arrow 2)

I've tried to supply as much info as possible to make it easier for you guys to answer, but if you need further infomation or more screenshots just give me a shout and I'll see what I can do Smile
The site's undergoing major maintenance so fixing these little errors now, would be grand.

thanks in advance

Solved Re: Usergroups under Forum Moderators same colour as links, user post detail background image and more Q's

1) Add to your CSS Stylesheet:
With text shadow:
Code:
a.group-mod{
color: #0091FF !important;
text-shadow: 0px 0px 8px !important;
}
Without:
Code:
a.group-mod{
color: #0091FF !important;
text-shadow: 0px 0px 0px !important;
}

2) If you meant the panel:
Code:
.panel{
background: #121212 !important;
border: 2px solid #333 !important;
}
If you meant full profile page:
Code:
.panel .row3{
background: #121212 !important;
border: 2px solid #333 !important;
}

3) You can from Users & Groups => Groups => Group administration => Read this tutorial: http://help.forumotion.com/t10988-organizing-groups-colors-in-legend

4) Add in JavaScript management:
Code:
$(function(){
$(".forabg").after("<img src="IMAGELINK" />");
$.('.forabg').css('padding-left','100px');
)}
100px depend of the image's widht. For example image widht is 100px you'll put 110px there in the script.

5) 1. Space between ranks:
Code:
.postprofile dl dd br{
display: none !important;
}
2. The column width:
Code:
.postprofile{
width: 20% !important;
}

Cool Remove the line:
Code:
.h3, h3{
border-bottom: 0px !important;
}

9) Solution in the 5.2 point. Smile

Solved Re: Usergroups under Forum Moderators same colour as links, user post detail background image and more Q's

1) This sets all moderator groups to turn blue like they were already doing, is there a way to make them turn into their given colour (moderator = orange, admin = black and red text shadow/glowy, support doesn't have a colour yet.)?

If not, now that Admin doesn't appear glowey under 'Moderators' this is fine Razz

2) Yes! that is it Very Happy
Only problem is, it appears on the homepage now as boxes around the catergories (not a major issue, I just preferred them when it didn't have a box) and also a random box up the top. Can I isolate the code to just View Profile & Profile pages, along with any other future pages I find it needs the code for? Here's a screeny.
(The red I want removed, while the green obviously was the original boxes before I added the code and want kept)
Spoiler:
EDIT: and also remove it around chatbox. Looks strange.

3) Oh, no I know how to change their name colour Razz Maybe I mis-understood the term 'Font'. I figured this meant that admins/moderators automatically typed in this font colour while in messages. Oh-ok, alright never mind then. thanks anyway

4) This apparently didn't do anything.... here's a screeny of what I wanted if you mis-understood Razz (I used a custom image for the legend on the homepage (the new posts, no new posts, locked legend, not the usergroup legend.) and I'll need to make one seperately (larger) for in forum/catergories, I just want to know how I get an image there - and remove the term Legend, but not remove the other h3 titles (privileges, statistics, etc.)
Spoiler:

5) This fixed the gap, only now all my ranks are mushed together? How do I keep the no-gap bit but seperate them by a line, (so they go under each other like originally?)

9) Yep that worked, thanks Smile

Cool EDIT2: Nvm, I fixed it Razz It's all good now, thanks.
