Forum Template for phpBB3
Hi everyone,
I have been spending some time browsing around phpBB websites looking for the perfect forum template. It's kind of ironic I found what I am looking for right here at forumotion.com (the forum of forums)! This site has everything I want in my forum. Especially the retracting sidebar widgets.
Is this a template that's available for download?
I haven't done too much poking around yet. Just want to get my first post and see what it looks like. Thanks in advance for everyone's help.

Re: Forum Template for phpBB3
Thanks MrMario!! I have been looking around and I think I understand the services forumotion provide. I found this site in one of the threads
Thread: https://help.forumotion.com/t102219-minimize-hide-widgets-help?highlight=sidebar+widgets
Site: http://laskarislam.indonesianforum.net/
Aside from the color scheme, it pretty much looks like forumotion's forums. How was he/she able to get that template? Is it available if I were to sign up for a forum here?

Re: Forum Template for phpBB3
The forumotion support forum theme is the standard phpbb3 theme customised with CSS. Whether you were to join here or properly download and host phpbb3 all that is required is editing the CSS to your liking.
The standard theme, named prosilver comes as default with a phpbb3 forum off of forumotion.
I believe the default phpbb3 theme for forumotion is a slightly edited version of the subBlue phpbb3 theme. Which is practically the same.
Either way you choose you'll notice the similarity and all that needs changing are the colours.
(and adding a sidebar, but there's plenty of tutorials to do that on phpbb forum)

Re: Forum Template for phpBB3
Great, thanks for the reply. I understand that phpBB is very customizable. I guess I'm trying to decided if I should get a forum with forumotion or get a host myself. My main concern is, will I have access to my data? Will forumotion let me have my data if I chose to go another route later on?

Re: Forum Template for phpBB3
No if you choose to go with forumotion, you don't own the database and will never get a copy of it.
HOWEVER don't consider this a negative as such, if you don't have any understanding of PHP, SQL and just HTML then you'll be better off going for forumotion, due to the fact it is made simple.
A proper phpbb forums admin panel assumes a decent level of knowledge.
Not to mention you'll have to pay for the host, pay for the domain, set up your MySQL and such. So if your just starting, i'd still recommend forumotion.
