Post by h4rl3y123 on January 8th 2008, 8:15 pm

It Would Be Great If We Could Edit Our Templates For Phpbb3, As I Really Need This! I Even Went And Payed For Template Editing Not Realizing That Only PHPBB2 Would Work Sad

So, Please Technicians Can You Do This? Crying or Very sad

i think team is working that way, but will take time so that other things are not disturbed. so dont worry it will be there in some time.

It may be coming 1-2 months.

Count me in too...a definite YES to this! I just recently changed from Phpbb2 to 3 and I'm starting to realize that I can't edit certain things. Sad This is unfortunate I feel because Phpbb3 has features that I need and want on my forum but I just don't understand why I can't edit the same things I did with phpbb2 Sad

@hitesh wrote:i think team is working that way, but will take time so that other things are not disturbed. so dont worry it will be there in some time.

It may be coming 1-2 months.

Well, You all know my answer to that...its a BIG YES...
If you noticed, hitesh said template editing might be coming within 1-2 months ,way back in January..
Half of the year 2008 is gone and, unfortuntely, nothing has been done about it.
Nevertheless,is forumotion really serious about doing what needs to be done at the right time?
The IP FINDER feature that was recently configured onto our forums is cool, but is it the TOP PRIORITY right now, compared to TEMPLATE EDITING FOR PHB3? I really dont think so..
Why not invest the 6months into configuring TEMPLATE EDITING FOR PHB3, instead of wasting it on an IP FINDER that virtually nobody is in a hurry to use?
Forummotion management should please get their acts right and start doing things properly. That attitude of ''if you dont like d way we do things here, just move on'' is very unprofessional, to say the least.
After clients have invested lots of time, energy and resources in building up a forum and attracting members(150,500 or more members is no joke!), the least we expect from forumotion is to be SUPPORTIVE of our efforts and do the right thing at the right time, instead of hiding the issue as if it doesnt exist.
In summary, Calheim, TEMPLATE EDITING FOR PHB3 is essential for internet marketing and advertising our forums through banners, ads and links that would give us more higher ranking and exposure on google, yahoo and other internet search engines.
By so doing, you also give more publicity to forumotion since more visitors can come and check out the latest software(phb3) that forumotion could offer.
I'm not criticizing you, Calheim, just letting you know the facts before the remaining members you have start trooping off to better online competitors like SMF and VBB that has more to offer and have the best interests of their members at heart.
They already have custom made template editors automatically configured for their members...
They already have sticky posts and announcement features enabled on their forums..
Their forums dont log you out after few minutes of signing in to their sites..
Their forums can disable weblinks and images from spammers, until the 10th or 20th or 50th posts...

See why they are at the TOP and have larger MARKET SHARE of the discussion board industry?

Please, try and look at what your competitors are doing and make up strategies that are better and more stable than them. It is for YOUR OWN ONLINE SURVIVAL! NEED I SAY MORE???
Nuff said Rolling Eyes
(Hey, I'd like to vote in the polls but it seems someone had disabled it)

as you can see, forumotion needs to do better...
There's still much more to be done, instead of resting on their oars and feeling self satisfied or they'll simply be left behind by more dynamic and competitive organizations.
