Solved Purge Form request after ban.

Post by Arbalist February 24th 2012, 2:36 am

Hi,

I have been banned/deleted/and ip blocked from a forum recently...no explanation given, just deleted, but that's not the issue.

The thing is, all the material I have contributed to this forum still remains.

Since I do not agree with the Admin's forum politics (cursing off and/or banning anyone who doesn't agree with him, etc.) I would like to no longer be associated with that forum as a whole entirely and would like to have my material removed.

Question is - Is this possible?

Thanks,

Arbalist

PS: I'm an Admin myself, and it just wrecks me to see people exposed to the kind of treatment they receive at that forum, so if they seek the material I have shared, I really wouldn't want them to seek it in a place like that.

Hello,

IF any of the post that provide personal info, details and what not you can request to be removed. At for post, you can ask, but there isn't any requirements to do so.

Solved Re: Purge Form request after ban.

Post by Arbalist February 24th 2012, 8:10 am

I sent the Admin a message asking to have my content removed, but no answer yet.

In fact I had to send it to his alternate email since the messages arrive in Mod's inbox.

As I understand these are the terms of use here(and thus every adjacent forum):

Responsibility of contents
You acknowledge and convene that any information, code, data, text, software, music, sound, photograph, picture, graphics, video, chat, messages, feature, or any other content, if transmitted publicly or in private, are the only responsibility of the person from whom the content comes from.. This means that you are, and in any case, entirely responsible of any content that you upload/download, post, send by e-mail or transmitted by any other way, than via the services. In no circumstance, Forumotion.com will be held responsible in any way or any content from a user or from a third-party, including but not limited to, any mistake or omission in these contents, or for any loss or damage of any kind, by the fact of the use of these contents noticed and, sent by e-mail or transmitted in any way via the services.

My account was deleted, but information remained. I sign every message independently from the profile signature, so it's still in my name. I also have images/schematics that I myself have taken/sketched in practically every post. This is my content and I do not want it presented by the forum where it may be misrepresented and misused.

Can I request a Purge Form from Forumotion? You guys are my only hope of getting the content off the forum if the Admin does not comply.

This isn't about instructions on knitting socks, I'm talking about weapons.

Well isn't that just lovely, What kind of forum is this?

IDK???
you will have to contact the forum admin and ask him to remove everything,
if you cant do it from your computer due to ip ban then you will have to use another one you can do it from.

But i mean if it's content you uploaded and posted on the forum, then you already put it out there, That's not the admins fault what you posted..
I dont know why you was banned, But the Founder, admins or other staff are not really obligated to remove anything that you willing uploaded, posted,

So your best bet would be to try to get a hold of the admin and ask if you can at least come back long enough to delete all your post, or if a staff member can.

other then that, unless you have Full name, home address, phone number or other things that of a personal matter, I am not sure if there is much you can do about, If you have personal information on the forum like what i have just mentioned and they are not removing it,
Then you can send a report to formuotion litigation's, The founder would be obligated to remove any personal information such as that.

But things that are just everyday posting and sharing on the forum, then it would be the admin and staff's choice to remove it.

And as far as this whole weapons schematics things you have on their,
Well what where you even thinking? I mean you do you honesty think that when you was a member there that it could not get in the wrong hands or be misused then, I really do not even know what to think about such statements as this. That whole thing just sounds really gullible to even be sharing such materials. I have no idea what the forum is or is about, but saying things like that do not sound pretty at all. And if they are doing things illegal then it needs to be reported so it can be shut down?

Anyway this is where you make a official report that will go to forumotion litigation

Thank you for the responses.

What kind of forum? Well, it's a very unique forum...Illegal? - no, Misguided? - yes.

I understand that listening to a banned member's complaints isn't a pleasant thing(ever), so I understand how you feel. There are a few people out there who have been banned without any justification, but rather ruthlessness of the governing element.

And as far as the whole legal thing is concerned...it all depends on how you word it, but I'd rather not go through the trouble of defending them nor blaming them for all troubles in the world (lol, especially mine).

I just wanted to be sure of the exact interpretation of terms of service before making any *demands*

I understand how this thing works now. I'll keep in touch with the forum staff and see if we can settle it from there. And if that doesn't work out...well...I'll be forwarding the forum for review to the team...or who knows...maybe just let time do all the judging (most likely this, since we used to be on good terms in the past and I might be the one in error...time will tell.)

Thank you both for your help.
