Member Default Text on FM

Before I start this off, this is not a rant or anything of that sort.

I just got a warning from a Mod for using Bold text.
(Please don't use bold or color. Please keep to the default text. This is reserved for the staff for moderation.)

I am always trying to go by the rules and do as told to keep forums running and tidy. But in this case I feel that I need to get this out. Normal members are not aloud colors and that's fine, but not being aloud to use Bold is just going that little step too far. For example some might want to highlight something amongst a block of text and since we can't use colors, using Bold is a normal way of going around it.

I was just unpleasantly surprised by the warning. And I wonder if anyone else feels the same way about this. Again I'm not trying to provoke anyone or start trouble, just a discussion.

CatherinaAndrea, the rules are made for general public in mind. Even if you have all the intent to be tidy & neat others abuse it & it looks very bad. Hence, the rule is in place.

Also, i know how you exactly felt. Will just tell you one occasion, when i had joined Forumotion & was just a normal member as you. Caihlem was the admin & he reminded me about using bold & color & i felt like i was buried with a stone on my head. I was just helping a member & he reminded me for using bold & color, i was upset. But, overtime i realized that he just wanted the forum to be clean overall & he had nothing personal against me.

Also, if you want to highlight something you can always use the italic tags or the underline tag. Members can get it then, only a color or bold does not means it gets highlighted.

Also, I would have closed this thread immediately because its a war zone discussing about the rules however, i just didn't want to close the thread directly not to be rude.
