Solved Re: Multi-Theme Explanation

Post by cHaSwWind04 on July 12th 2012, 3:57 am

Sorry for double post but I need to bump this tread and sorry also for being late to reply since I have a fever that it make me weak for sometime. Luckily, I feel good right now to post this.

At this code
Spoiler:
Code:
//STAR Skin Selector by Bourne (montatuforo.net) and 3mOtrOnik (toxigeek.com)
document.write('<style>body {margin-top:50px !important;} select {color: #fff !important; background-color: #000 !important;} option {font-family: verdana; font-size: 10px; color: white;} option.sl {color: #fff !important; background-color: #000;} SELECT{ font-family: verdana; font-size: 10px; color: white; </style>');
document.write('<div style="position: absolute; width: 150px; height: 38px; z-index: 1; left: 5px; top: 10px" id="skinselector"><form><select onchange="changeskin(this.options[this.selectedIndex].value); window.location.reload();"><option class="sl">Selet your skin</option><option class="sl" value="Defaul"> Default </option><option class="sl" value="Black"> Theme 1 name</option><option class="sl" value="Purple"> Theme 2 name</option><option class="sl" value="Yellow"> Theme 3 name</option></select></form></div>');
var scheme = getCookie('template1');
if (scheme == 'Defaul') {
document.write('<LINK REL="stylesheet" TYPE="text/css" HREF=" *DEFAULT THEME REMOVE THIS* http://yourforumsaddress.forumotion.com/77-ltr.css">');
} else if (scheme == 'Black') {
document.write('<LINK REL="stylesheet" TYPE="text/css" HREF="http://Custom Skin 1">');
} else if (scheme == 'Purple') {
document.write('<LINK REL="stylesheet" TYPE="text/css" HREF="http://Custom skin 2">');
} else if (scheme == 'Yellow') {
document.write('<LINK REL="stylesheet" TYPE="text/css" HREF="http://Custom skin 3">');;
}

function changeskin(change) {
var scheme = change;
var name = 'template1';
var pathname = location.pathname;
var myDomain = pathname.substring(0,pathname.lastIndexOf('/')) +'/';
var ExpDate = new Date ();
ExpDate.setTime(ExpDate.getTime() + (180 * 24 * 3600 * 1000));
setCookie(name,scheme,ExpDate,myDomain);
}
function getCookie(name){
var cname = name + "=";
var dc = document.cookie;
if (dc.length > 0) {
begin = dc.indexOf(cname);
if (begin != -1) {
begin += cname.length;
end = dc.indexOf(";", begin);
if (end == -1) end = dc.length;
return unescape(dc.substring(begin, end));
}
}
return null;
}

function setCookie(name, value, expires, path, domain, secure) {
document.cookie = name + "=" + escape(value) +
((expires == null) ? "" : "; expires=" + expires.toGMTString()) +
((path == null) ? "" : "; path=" + path) +
((domain == null) ? "" : "; domain=" + domain) +
((secure == null) ? "" : "; secure");
}
//END Skin Selector by Bourne (montatuforo.net) and 3mOtrOnik (toxigeek.com)

What do I need to reedit there and how to connect a skin there and If I got my own skin, how to put it there?

Do you have the skin uploaded to hitskin.com ?

Do you have the list of URL's like http://address_of_your_forum/153102-ltr.css

How about I am not the REAL/Founder of the Admin but the admin allows me to do it. it is possible that I upload a skin in hitskin without a founder's password. If not, well I think I have resolve to do it the hard way (Making a test forum).
Anyways, What do I need to edit in the code I have given in the previous post?

You need not be a founder of the forum.

You can choose any random skins from hitskin.com

The links you need to change are these.
http://Custom Skin 1, http://Custom Skin 2, http://Custom Skin 3

This is my whole code for the HTML page
Spoiler:
Code:
//STAR Skin Selector by Bourne (montatuforo.net) and 3mOtrOnik (toxigeek.com)
    document.write('<style>body {margin-top:50px !important;} select {color: #fff !important; background-color: #000 !important;} option {font-family: verdana; font-size: 10px; color: white;} option.sl {color: #fff !important; background-color: #000;} SELECT{ font-family: verdana; font-size: 10px; color: white; </style>');
    document.write('<div style="position: absolute; width: 150px; height: 38px; z-index: 1; left: 5px; top: 10px" id="skinselector"><form><select onchange="changeskin(this.options[this.selectedIndex].value); window.location.reload();"><option class="sl">Selet your skin</option><option class="sl" value="Defaul"> Default </option><option class="sl" value="Black"> Theme 1 name</option><option class="sl" value="Purple"> Theme 2 name</option><option class="sl" value="Yellow"> Theme 3 name</option></select></form></div>');
    var scheme = getCookie('template1');
    if (scheme == 'Defaul') {
    document.write('<LINK REL="stylesheet" TYPE="text/css" HREF="http://tnmaa.forumotion.com/179126-ltr.css">');

    } else if (scheme == 'Yellow') {
    document.write('<LINK REL="stylesheet" TYPE="text/css" HREF="tnmaa.forumotion.com/165540-ltr.css">');;
    }

    function changeskin(change) {
    var scheme = change;
    var name = 'template1';
    var pathname = location.pathname;
    var myDomain = pathname.substring(0,pathname.lastIndexOf('/')) +'/';
    var ExpDate = new Date ();
    ExpDate.setTime(ExpDate.getTime() + (180 * 24 * 3600 * 1000));
    setCookie(name,scheme,ExpDate,myDomain);
    }
    function getCookie(name){
    var cname = name + "=";
    var dc = document.cookie;
    if (dc.length > 0) {
    begin = dc.indexOf(cname);
    if (begin != -1) {
    begin += cname.length;
    end = dc.indexOf(";", begin);
    if (end == -1) end = dc.length;
    return unescape(dc.substring(begin, end));
    }
    }
    return null;
    }

    function setCookie(name, value, expires, path, domain, secure) {
    document.cookie = name + "=" + escape(value) +
    ((expires == null) ? "" : "; expires=" + expires.toGMTString()) +
    ((path == null) ? "" : "; path=" + path) +
    ((domain == null) ? "" : "; domain=" + domain) +
    ((secure == null) ? "" : "; secure");
    }
    //END Skin Selector by Bourne (montatuforo.net) and 3mOtrOnik (toxigeek.com)

Could you check some mistakes?
BTW, where do I put this code
Code:
<script src=/h3-></script>

Code:
<script src=/h3-></script>
You need to replace the 3 number with the number of the html page you created.

Thats where you add it.
Final step:
Navigate to: General > Forum Description > Insert the URL we made just above, and save.

<script src=/h3-></script>
do I need to put this on the Java Script page or do I put it in the SITE DESCRIPTION because I couldn't find the forum description?

Edit: Yeh!!!! I found it. Thank you.
BTW, could I create my own skins and upload it to hitskin without founder's password? or do I create a testforum in order to put it there?

One last question before I could marked this tread as solved.

Could the skin changer (what I called in the multi-theme add-on) also changes the photo management of the forum because it doesn't change and still remains.
