Solved Widget Size Issue, Avatar Effect, CSS Issue

Post by oxtenshixo on September 28th 2012, 5:20 am

Ok, I've looked through most of the archives and the current topics and I believe none of my questions have been answered...sorry if I'm wrong -.-

My forum is +HERE and it is phpbb2 (subsilver)

Question 1: As I'm sure you can see from my site link the widget boxes are all different sizes. How do I adjust them to be all the same size?

Question 2: I would like to know how to make the avatar light up when you hover over it. +HERE is an example of what I mean.

Question 3: From that same link you will see a 'Menu' button that opens up and does not move even when you scroll. Am I able to do that to phpbb2? An if so, how?

Question 4: I've changed the font of the character names (using CSS) under the avatar picture, but unless you have that font you can't see it. Is there a way I can make everyone see what I see regardless if they have that particular font or not?

Ok, that's all my questions and I'm a beginner when it comes to coding and html and all that jazz. Actually saying I'm even a beginning is stretching the truth a little lol. So detailed explanations would be great.

Thank you!!

2) Add this to your css.
Code:
 span.postdetails a img{
-moz-transition-delay: 0s;
    -moz-transition-duration: 1.1s;
    -moz-transition-property: all;
    -moz-transition-timing-function: ease-in-out;
    opacity: 0.5;
}

 span.postdetails a img:hover {
opacity:1;
}

4) What font did you add, i think they will be able to see unless its some random font.

2. I plugged in the code, and initially it said there was an error because there was an uneven number of { and } so then I added in the
span.postdetails a img{ but it still didn't work. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong :/

4. I think it's a weird font, I used bearerFond. It's a font I downloaded from dafont

My code tag was added incorrectly. I have fixed it now. The code should work.

4) I don't think that would be viewable then.

I plugged in the code into my css exactly and it still isn't working. Do I need to play around with the numbers to make the change more noticeable?

I'm sorry to be such a bother -.- I just don't know anything about css or coding for that matter.

I'm sorry, but it's really not working. I've plugged in the code exactly to the top of my CSS Stylesheet and if you click on my link in my first post it's not working.

4. I figured, I was only curious since I know it's possible with HTML. Thank you though (:

Thank you! It works!

Do I just fiddle with the numbers to make it more of a gradual light up and not so instantaneous?

That's the same code you posted right before mine. I plugged it in and nothing changed.

I've used higher numbers so I could possibly see a more drastic change just in case I just wasn't noticing. An that wasn't the case, it's not slowing down.

I have even checked on a different browser to see if the change is just not visible on chrome. (Why is that btw? Why can some effects be seen on certain browsers and not all of them)

This is solved, since it doesn't seem like anyone knows about making the menu button.
