Solved How to center background when using "Forum Width" widget?

Post by The Lone Ranger on October 27th 2012, 7:12 pm

Hi guys, I added a "Forum Width" widget to column 1 of the portal of our forum, www.tenerifesforumoffun.com
and it works fine except for one thing. One of the backgrounds doesn't center along with the rest of the forum as it widens. This is an image I added myself to replace the one in CSS as it didn't have our name on it. Here is a screenshot of what the forum looks like when widened with the uncentered background shown...

is there any code for CSS that can make this center when each of the "Forum Width" sizes are selected?

It centers itself when going back to default 924 pixels width. Very Happy

Hi,

Add this to your CSS:

Code:
#userlinks {
    margin: 0 auto !important;
}

Than make the changes with the widgets. If it doesn't work, make the changes first (adjust the widgets) and than bump the topic so we can actually see the problem with the background not aligning on your forum.

There's no need to PM me. Just make the changes (adjust the widgets) so I can actually see the problem cause now everything is centered?

The problem is that you marked the orange part as not centered/the one that needs to be fixed. Now too everything looks fine to me?
I need to see the problem on your forum.

Sorry Nera, I had permissions set to members and above. I have included "Guests" now. Click on "Portal" on the Nav Bar and you should see the "Forum Width" button in Column 1. There are 4 different width settings which each member can set to suit his screen width. Have a go and you'll see what I mean.

EDIT: It's OK Nera, it's working now! I added the CSS content again and it worked this time. Thank you! Please mark as Solved and close thread. :wouhou:
